Getting Started
This rFactor 2 Quick Guide is also available to watch on YouTube.

First, open rFactor 2 through your Steam Library.

Once the Launcher pops up, click on the Single Race Helmet to open rFactor 2 in Single Player mode.

You're now in the main menu, which consists of four menus that are accessible through the following buttons:
  • SERIES
  • TRACK
  • CAR
  • SESSION SETTINGS

Underneath the SERIES button you'll see the text All Tracks & Cars.

Click on the TRACK button to bring up the complete list of tracks included in rFactor 2 as well as their layouts.

Similarly, the CAR button shows the complete list of available cars.

You can use the preconfigured RaceEvents included in rFactor 2 to filter the tracks and cars selection. This allows you, for example, to use RaceEvents to run a series with corresponding cars and tracks (which automatically excludes any mismatched tracks and cars).
Setting Up a RaceEvent
Click on the SERIES icon at the top.
  • Deselect the ALL TRACKS & CARS option (gray)
  • Select the INCLUDE RACE EVENTS options (orange)
You will see the complete list of preconfigured series (RaceEvents).

Highlight a RaceEvent and then click the INFO button to see which tracks and cars are included.

Once you've chosen a RaceEvent in the list, click ACCEPT.

The name of the RaceEvent you selected will now appear underneath the SERIES button.

Only the filtered selection of tracks will now be available through the TRACK button in the SELECT TRACK menu.

Similarly, only the cars included in the selected RaceEvent will be accessible through the CAR button in the SELECT VEHICLE menu.

Customizing Session Settings
Before starting your first race in the series, click on the SESSION SETTINGS icon to access the PRACTICE, QUALIFYING, and RACE options tabs.

NOTE: If you want to run Qualifying sessions, make sure to first select this option in the bottom right underneath SESSION SETTINGS by checking QUALIFYING (set to YES).

You can customize various additional session settings, for example the length of your practice session, the number of qualifying sessions, and the number of race laps.
Starting a Race
Once you're happy with the settings, click the big orange RACE button on the right to start your race.

The track will load and start with the Practice session.

Click on NEXT SESSION to advance to Qualifying or to Race.

After the race, you can start a new session on the next track without exiting to the main menu by clicking NEXT TRACK. This will load the next track or layout from the series.

(NOTE: The NEXT TRACK button is only available when running a RaceEvent. You will not see the NEXT TRACK button if you've loaded a track from the ALL TRACKS & CARS menu.)
Reverting to All Tracks and Cars (optional)
To get back to the full list of Tracks and Cars
  1. click LEAVE TRACK
  2. in the main menu click on SERIES
  3. select the ALL TRACKS & CARS button so it's orange
  4. click ACCEPT

All tracks and cars are once again selectable.

That's it for rFactor 2 RaceEvents in single player mode.

Have fun and good luck all!

@echo_mike_sierra (and also for anyone else that's interested...) as far as I'm aware there's no ability to track information regarding championship points / etc. natively in RF2. I personally use a tool called "rf2 log analyzer" which works really really really brilliantly for the job, though it's an external application. See here:

Anyone know if its possible to get the game to track results and award points? There is a field for points on the home screen but it stays at "0". It's nice to get the game to filter the lists of cars and tracks, but if you can't create a schedule of events and record results to determine a winner, it's not really a series or event or championship...

Can't wait for the new interface and the online system coming from the devs...maybe they could add this functionality or even host events?

Ok, I just create a simple (as test) race event using the MAS utility and following the guide on Steam. It seems to be easy, thats why i'm surprised to not find a single on by default ..

On rF1, i loved the Lienz festival Race event ; it was nice to have this in default content.

I've looked extensively online for help regarding this issue under the current beta build and nothing works in regards to Series. I've added all of the required official workshop items and the Series page is still empty.

With all the recent updates, can this be updated? It doesn't work as described anymore. I can't create packages that my other drivers can find. They get Package not available" when trying to join my server. Thanks.
