This mod supports multiple languages! If you'd like to help with the translations, please contact me. Languages without proper translators just used Google Translate, so it may not be the best translation.

Description

Be able to see more Topics when Researching!

Note that this does way more than just increase the Visible Topics by a static amount. Oh no, that'd be too easy.

Instead, your Topic Visibility increases based on a number of different factors:
  • Total Topics (+1 per 50. This means that you'll start out with 5, and possibly more if you have a topic mod installed)
  • Company Level (+1 per level [not including the first level])
  • Topics Researched (+1 per 10 topics researched [not including the 4 you start with])
  • Research Skill (+1 per 1000 research skill points of your total staff [meaning 600 can come from you, and 400 from an employee])
  • Topic Visibility Research (+1 per visibility research level [there are 7 levels])

This mod isn't designed to reveal all of the topics for you, but rather make it easier than just seeing the next 4 topics available. You'll start out with 5, and your visibility will slowly increase based on the conditions explained above.

It's pretty easy to get your topic visibility up to 6, 7, or 8, but after that, it may start becoming a little harder.

Also, just in case you fail to read this description, or you're having trouble understanding how this works, there are in-game notifications that will inform you about the different upgrades, when you've received them for the first time, and anything else you might need to know.

And YES! This mod is compatible with other topic mods (that's why I have the +1 per 50 total topics bonus).

Lastly, this does require the Game Dev Tycoon Mod API, which everyone already have installed (it's packaged with the game).

are the 3 error messages that pop up, It only started happening after the update :o

Hello everyone!

I've recently followed up with the promised update that fixes the last known bug in this mod. Furthermore, I've switched to using semantic versioning, so the mod is now on version 1.0.0, rather than 0.4.

Let me know if you're having any trouble with the mod (and please provide context), and I'll roll out an update as soon as possible.

Hello everyone!

I've recently updated this mod for the grand 1.6 update to the main game. I've taken this opportunity to clean up several aspects of the mod, and also add new translations! See full change log in the OP.

Also, I scanned the source code for the bug that @redmoth27 described, and found it to be impossible (assuming that GDT is managing mods correctly). Removing this mod should cause no adverse effects to your game.

I'll be following up with another patch for the bug described by @Kyouko Tsukino. Thanks again for your feedback.

@redmoth27 That's interesting, but I don't think it's likely. My mod only changes the static topic visibility amount in the code base. Removing the mod should reset it back to 4. I apologize if this hindered your experience with the game.

If it was truly an issue with lingering code, that's something outside of my control. The developers of the game itself are the ones that built the Mod API, which my mod merely integrates with (per the specifications of which they described). If you feel that this is a real issue, I would report it to Greenheart Games.

If you're able to reliably replicate this issue, I might be able to look into it. Of course, due to the reason above, my contributions may be limited.

I didn't like your mod so I unistalled it, but somehow me the 0.1% got this strange bug where some of the code was left behind, and even without the mod ALL TOPICS ARE REVEALED!

Sorry for the capslock its for dramatic effect.
