Description
Map of Maidstone in the county of Kent UK. Requires Euro Cities DLC.

It is recommended that this map is played with 'city growth' disabled.

This map is based on Maidstone, the county town of Kent in the south-eastern corner of England. It lays between London and the channel tunnel /ferry ports to continental Europe.
It is partly a commuter town for people working in London, it also has local commerce and industry providing local enployment. It is also the administrative centre for the county of Kent.
The motorway to the north is the M20 linking London and the rest of the UK to continental Europe via the channel tunnel and ferries. This carries an enormous volume of traffic that is impossible to reproduce in CIM2. The rail line located to the north of the motorway is the HS1 high speed rail line linking London to the channel tunnel and thus has no practical function either locally or in the game.
The other two rail lines are commuter lines and can be used as metro lines in game, there’s a loop at one end of each line to facilitate this.
The road network is like that of most UK cities, completely unplanned and totally inadequate, with building developments connected haphazardly to existing roads with no consideration for the provision of public transport! This makes creating a public transport system challenging both in reality and in the game! I’ve also added bus lanes to the major roads to make the game playable, compensating for the poor traffic handling of CIM2 roads; they have nowhere near the capacity of equivalent real life roads.
I’ve provided additional traffic sources at the outer ends of railways and main roads to simulate commuter traffic.
All the buildings on the map have been ‘hand placed’, I do not use the automatic building generation tool in the editor as I do not like it’s bland random result.
This map was created using the ‘maps4cim’ tool.
I also utilises the narrow footpaths created with CIM2patchplus and Bundle patches created by eis_os which I highly recommend that you install these mods, if you haven't already done so, they can be found here: http://cim2.bytetransfer.de/bundlepatches/ and: http://cim2.bytetransfer.de/cim2patchplus/

Ver 1.1 has some small changes, mainly some additional residental districs.

Please remember to rate this map, if you like it.

Very beautiful, intriguing and well thought out map overall! Not too many train tracks to give too much of a headstart, but also not too easy to figure out the most optimal routing and spread of your stop network. The low-density suburbs extend quite far out in multiple directions whereas higher-density suburbian housing are more few and far between. This is the type of map layout I sincerely enjoy working my head around! So thank you a lot, and I'll likely be playing this quite a lot.
