We're live on Kickstarter!
We've been Greenlit!
Description
Release date: Q3 2015
Star Fox meets Pilotwings in VR.
CREATED BY FORMER VALVE DEV, Faceted Flight brings tight controls, beautifully stylized art, and an amazing soundtrack together to deliver an incredibly fun and entertaining experience.

"If you've played Pilotwings, you'll feel right at home."

Faceted Flight immerses you in a retro-scifi universe where pilots are celebrities. Jump into the cockpit of a Hover-Jet and fly through beautifully stylized low-poly environments.

We're Kickstarting Faceted Flight to fund our next major update: The Faceted Flight World Tour, an event best described as "The Olympics of Aerial Sports".

Faceted Flight will launch in September of 2015 on PC, Mac, Linux, AND VIRTUAL REALITY Headsets like the Oculus Rift, Samsung GearVR, and MergeVR headsets.

Help us get on Steam
"With the core gameplay mechanics solidly in-place, I'm ready to build a larger experience and I need your help," says project lead, Matthew Scott. Until now, Faceted Flight has largely been a solo development effort and completely self-funded. "With your support I can assemble a strike team of kickass indie developers and artists to fully explore Faceted Flight's potential."

The World Tour
In the Faceted Flight: World Tour, pilots represent their home country and travel to host venues around the globe to compete in different aerial challenges.

Pilots earn medals by competing in a number of aerial challenges at each Host Location. Pilots can earn moar medals by entering challenges with a variety of different aircraft classes, like the Hover-Jet, Hover-Chair, and Power-Glider.

Medal counts will be tracked online with Global Leaderboards so you can see which country holds the most medals. We'll also have country leaderboards to see how you compare to your neighbors.

Aerial Competition
Each Venue offers Pilots a chance to prove their skill in a variety of different challenges, including:

Aerial Races
Go head-to-head with the best of the best of the best, with honors. Are you the fastest pilot in the world? It's time to kick the tires and light the fires! Push your aircraft and stomach to the limit as your barrel through twists and turns at incredible speeds.

Stunt Flight
"StarFox meets Tony Hawk" in the Stunt Flight Challenges where style and fearlessness matter most. Rack up massive points for flying recklessly. Thread the Needle. Buzz the Tower. Do a Barrel Roll. Just don't crash.

Time Attack
Fly, fly, fly, as fast as you can. Blaze through each flight course as fast as you can. How far can you get before time runs out?

Free Flight
Spend some time with your head in the clouds. In Free Flight, there are no rules, time-limits, or anything like that. Take your time and explore, relax, or practice your m4d flight skillz.

World Tour Venues
The Faceted Flight World Tour is held at multiple Host Venues throughout the world. We plan on shipping four key venues, each with multiple challenges. Two are decided already, the other two will be picked by backers. That's right, our fate is in your hands. Be gentle.

Meet the Dev
Faceted Flight's developer is Matthew Scott, a games industry veteran who spent most of his career at Valve, where he worked on the Half-Life 2 Episodes, Portal series, Left 4 Dead series, and lots of other really cool stuff. Matt left Valve to pursue interests outside of the games industry, but quickly dove back into making games with the launch of the Oculus Rift DK1. Matt says, "DK1 is as monumental to gaming history as the addition of mouse-look or first hardware accelerated graphics in PC games."

The Story so Far
Faceted Flight was born out of Matt's obsession with flying in Virtual Reality. "Soon after unboxing my Oculus Rift DK1, I was doing nothing but building levels to fly around." After numerous other experiments, Faceted Flight started earnest development in June 2014.

The prototype of Faceted Flight has been played by hundreds of attendees at events like Oculus Connect in Hollywood, Unity3D's Unite 2014 in Seattle, and Virtual Reality meetups in Austin and Dallas.

The popularity of Faceted Flight's demo inspired an Early Access release on the indie game store, itch.io. Since it's initial release, Faceted Flight has seen complete overhauls to many gameplay systems and environments, and new features, like AI pilots.

One of my favorite DK2 experiences thus far. Really love the art style and music. No FPS issues of any kind and this just feels like a very polished game.
