It is a shame, because the scenario it's good but that glitch mess it up all
Actually fairly easy to beat if you evolve transmissions early on but there's still a chance of getting bad luck with the ship/plane hygiene events, since neither airborne nor waterborne transmission can be evolved to counter this.
Fortunately it was livestock which became immune to infection for me which wasn't that important and won easily anyway.
This makes any kind of victory basically impossible, which is upsetting because this is genuinely a really cool scenario. Just unfortunate that it doesn't really... work.
It's pretty good and you can see that there's been put a lot of time into making it, but with the flaws, I don't recommend this unless you really want a challenge (based on partly broken mechanics).
