Pre-Alpha Demo Out Now!
Linux and OSX Confirmed as Kickstarter Rounds $2k
Release date: Late 2014/Early 2015

Tomb of Tyrants is a dungeon-defense puzzler where you take on the role of a tyrant, building and defending a dungeon beneath the ancient Tomb of Tyrants by utilizing the vast resources of past tyrants' crumbled dungeons. You'll match regions of four or more tiles to gather resources and spend them on deadly floors, monsters, and traps. All the while, waves of greedy adventuring parties will descend through your dungeon, attempting to reach your inner sanctum and slay your tyrant.

  • Unique blend of tower-defense, simulation, RPG, and puzzling!
  • Slick, simple, and frenetic matching mechanics, where reflexes and planning are both rewarded!
  • Lovingly pixeled characters, settings, and animations!
  • Tactically emergent gameplay, spawning new strategies and builds as your game evolves!
  • Tons of diverse floors, items, minions, heroes, and more--to discover and exploit!
  • Quick sessions with long-term unlocks, gradually taking your game from newb-friendly to deeply cerebral!

Tomb of Tyrants is a one-man labor of love; check out the Kickstarter for daily content updates!

Oh, ok awesome, when this is implemented it'll be easier to think of stragties and correctly use your resources. Good luck with the development!

@zieleix Yes, I am working on the appearance of the codex this week; I stripped the current version from the demo (along with a few other features), because I didn't feel it was ready to show off. You will be able to click heroes or floors to bring up their page in the codex--which will offer detailed stats--, or you can simply browse through all of the content you've unlocked.

@STVR Thanks! I am also not a big matching game fan, but I feel this is a different concept that deserves exploration =).

I'm not a fan of matching games generally, but this looks like a unique take on the genre, so I'm down. Good luck!

So i played the demo and had quite a bit of fun with it and wanted to know if in the full release there will be a codex that shows the stats of each floor (and perhaps the heros too?) Thank you.

Looks good, can't wait to buy it on Steam!

@Vaagur Audio development has only barely begun, not because it isn't important, but because it can wait, and it is the only part of development that I am not handling entirely on my own.

The dungeon isn't centered, because this way I can use all of the negative space for large UI elements (like a pop-up codex) and other things. If I center the dungeon, then I have less space on any given side, and I need a lot of room, due to the large pixels. It is possible I could offer the option to center the dungeon when you don't have any other UI open, and it just offsets it when things pop up, but I imagine that might be rather frequently.

I might be up for some Steam Achievements; we'll see =).
