Design doesn't seem xenon though, was think more along the lines of paranid.

Looks rather Paranidian to me.

There's almost no chance that that's Khaak. The design doesn't fit anything we've ever seen from them.

Much more likely it's either Xenon, a new race altogether, or the reintroduction of one of the lost races (Paranid, Boron, etc.)
