New video about modding
Release date: Late 2014
Zoon is about you and friends building space-ships. Then racing those spaceships across space, through user-written missions, and dying gloriously in a dramatic crash with three enemy ships. Infinitely multi-player of course, and built from the ground up for mod support, there's endless fun just building ships and playing bumper-cars with friends.

While still in a alpha-stage this game holds the ability to design your own missile, fire it, teleport ONTO it, then ride it gloriously to a spartan death in the inner-workings of your friends death star.

Written in a custom engine poetically named SpaceOpera, Zoon is designed to be the game you always wanted. Full freedom over controls, lighting, power and weighting, giving you to the ability to make any ship you can dream of.

You can try the demo from here: (If it doesn't work for you, first try installing the three files in the Redist folder)

@LiquidBrick Thanks LB, truth is it's "kinda" open world. You have a map of inter-linked stars which you travel through, with each star containing it's own mission. It is open-world in the sense that you travel between these missions with a ship.

@Grey_Moment Hey Grey, thanks for positive comments. My plan was to release an early alpha which would let modders build a reservoir of missions and mods for the game, then make it super simple for normal-players to get those mods (hopefully via steam workshop).

I also have to mention, I plan to release a huge set of tutorials to show real people just how easy it is to mod and play around :D (Modding should be fun for all)

I realy enjoy the freedom this game promises. Not only with ship/missile design, but with modding and "user-written missions." I prefer the simple graphic style. I'm one who thinks graphics shouldn't get in the way of gameplay. Also, actually getting into the inner workings of a ship with power grids, engines, and lasers, is a huge plus for me. So, meteors, black holes, collisions, lasers, missions, mods, and multiplayer. Sure sounds fun to me.

One question. How much will be included in the vanilla? I'd love to say I'm an expert modder to whom this poses no problem, but... I'm not. Is this a game I want to get into if I'm not a competent programmer? I do like that mods can be implemented, but, how much will the average player need to do to get the game where they want it to be?

Overall, I give this game a out of

A middle score, but a score that says "I'd buy it" none the less. Keep up the good work.
