Medkit Overhaul EN patch v1.1

Description
This is English patch for Medkit Overhaul JP(救急キットオーバーホール JP).
You also need JP version of this mod as base mod.

This mod drastically modifies simplified medical system in vanilla, to make it more realistic and hardcore.
The addition of first aid kits of various performance, the increase in the cost of healing, the decrease in healing speed in the early stages of the game, and the increase in baggage due to the low capacity of the healing kits...

You have to be more careful management of treatment-related matters than ever before, so even experienced kenshi players will have a completely new experience.

Here's what actually will happen...

"The vanilla first aid kit (now it's changed into bandages) will be gone in seconds."

"You'll be carrying around multiple bandages, just like real medic."

"Low-quality splints won't help you to escape from cannibals."

"Hive skeleton repair kits are seriously unreliable."

"Multiple allied deaths due to wrong triage."

"Helping one wounded ally costs more than 3,000 cats."

"Sometimes, you'll run out of Med kits while you're healing yourself.

"First aid kits run out really quickly, so if you try to carry more than one, your luggage gets heavier and your wallet gets lighter.

"You'll spend the day in the game perusing the first aid kits at the store."

"Running out of medical supplies during an expedition and turning back."

"On your way back, you beat up a slaver caravans who passes by, take their first aid kit, and resume your expedition."

These are just a few of the problems you'll face that you've never experienced before due to the increased difficulty of the healing system.
If you can, or, you want to enjoy such incidents, this is the perfect mod for you.

This mod also focuses on the value of first aid kits as "loot items".
I have reworked the inventory of most NPCs to suit the altered performance of vanilla healing kits, and have changed them to carry a first aid kit that is appropriate for each character.
In some cases, you may get more first aid kits than you can use by yourselves.
In addition to buying them at the store or making your own, you can also choose to attack NPCs for first aid kits.
Of course, you can also make a living by selling the First aid kits.

I recommend starting with a new game or importing the save data, as it will change the environment considerably.


Here are the additions and modifications.
☆ = completely new Medkits with fullscratched models.

◆First Aid Kits
・Bandages
vanilla: Basic First Aid Kit
This one is useless when you have only one.

・Bandages and Disinfectant
vanilla:Standard first aid kit
A little better than bandages.
The quality is equivalent to a vanilla Basic First Aid Kit.

☆Hemostatic gauze
Gauze made by Tech Hunter, soaked in hemostatic agent.
Slightly expensive, but can be carried around in a compact bundle.

☆Civil Defense First Aid Kit
Anything you need for NBC protection, in a stylish orange case.

・Basic first aid kit.
vanilla: Advanced First Aid Kit
A bunch of bandages and some topical medicines.
Now you finally have a "basic" first aid kit.

☆Swamp First Aid Kit
Swamp's original compact first aid kit in a red waterproof bag.

☆Individual First Aid Kit
A high-end first aid kit designed for government soldiers.

☆Field Medical Supplies Set
A highest quality first aid kit for professional doctors and medics in a special container.
It is extremely difficult for a person to use.

◆Splint Kit
・Splint Kit(Nerfed)
If you have a slight leg injury, this is the kit for you.

☆Taping Set
A set of taping for fixing sprains and fractures.

・Bracing Kit (Advanced) (Nerfed)
It's bigger than the standard one, so it has more fixing power.

☆Foam Splint
A revolutionary splint made of soft metal and foam material.

◆Skeleton Repair Kit
・Authentic Skeleton Repair Kit(Nerfed)
A skeleton repair kit manufactured by Hive. Better than nothing.

・Emergency repair kit
Duct tape and lubricant. Very simple to use.

・Skeleton Repair Kit(Nerfed)
Common skeleton first aid kit.

・Field Repair Kit
A high-performance repair kit used by Tech Hunters. No need to worry if your skeletons are wrecked.

・Industrial Machinery Repair Kit
The best skeleton repair kit on the continent. Rarely available in stores, and very expensive.

◆Training Dummy
☆Bleeding Control Trainer
A makeshift Training Dummy.
You can learn medic skill up to Lv 10.

◆Screenshot pack
The models added in this mod have been set up so that they can be placed as furniture.
You can place them in normal construction mode, but I recommend using developer mode (default: shift+F12).

◆New Start
New game is recommended for this mod. However, for those who have already played through the existing starts, I have added two new starts.

・Doctors Without Discriminate
Difficulty: Apocalypse
As a doctor who helps anyone and everyone, take the Prosthetic Geek as your buddy and the bodybuilder as your powerful bouncer and set out on a journey of salvation as the Doctors Without Discriminate.

The Stray Doctor
Difficulty: Hard
As a military doctor of United Cities stranded in a bust, you'll have to do whatever it takes to return to the desert alive.


※About future updates※
There are currently no updates planned for this mod. There are no plans to update this mod at this time, but if I find a fatal bug, I will fix it accordingly.

I don't get what means "deeper but better", but my mod gives you a lot of new treatment options and strategy. This is on of my best work. So, plz try it. If it wasn't you expected, you can just unsub.

I was just expecting a deeper but better first aid system, but yeah, this just makes healing more difficult, which is fine, but not what i was hoping to find.

This is kinda hardcore mod. Some of my friends said this mod is too hard for their modded environment. But It's maybe fun to play with this mod. You will have a new challenging experience through treatment. Nobody dislike new experience, right?

oh sorry I'm late to rep (because playing minecraft all this week). When this mod released I dont think players loyal to HN have proper way to get Field med kit. but now Im planning to add some way to get these med spec kits. this maybe added next update coming soon™.

All NPCs work fine. Slave traders will treat you and so will some good people.
I also noticed during the test play process NPCs don't run out of their healing kits, so they won't buy more medical kits.

How do NPCs react to this? Will slavers still be able to heal you? Will NPCs buy more medical supplies because they run out quicker?

Maybe, I've come up with a few additions and will consider adding a first aid set to be sold in the store in the next update.
