Interstellaria hits Beta!
Description
Release date: March 2015
Interstellaria is a 2d space SIM/RPG/Sandbox game created in the same vein as the engaging space exploration games of the past. Inspired heavily by games like Starflight, Interstellaria is all about allowing the player to find their own adventure. Every star has something interesting to see, and every planet has it’s own unique feel. There are a number of unique encounters and hostile enemies to find. As captain, you are tasked with building your empire through diplomacy, trade, or force.

Despite a captain's best intentions, defending your vessel is a key part of surviving space. The player must balance power, crew, and life support in order to be the most successful. Combat and control of your ship is handled completely through a system of advanced crew management. You assign the crew to stations, and control the inner workings of your ship. In addition, you have to repair hull leaks, fight of enemy invaders, and solve strange anomalies. As you progress so do your crewmen, making them incredibly valuable in a combat situation. A high level crewman can target specific point s of an enemy vessel, while a novice can only aim in the enemies general direction. Be warned - once the shields go down the enemy can invade your ship as well!

A unique side of Interstellaria is the ability to also go planet side. You can spend days exploring non-linear caverns or challenging alien war lords. Some planets will challenge the player with unique puzzles and hazardous terrain. Other planets can only be tamed at the point of a gun. In addition to valuable artifacts and weapons, some alien worlds will allow you to purchase their unique vessels in exchange for clearing out hostile invaders.

Interstellaria is all about making what was old School new again. We hope to take you into deep space and let you feel like an explorer, a diplomat, and a general all in one. You can customize your ship, your crew, and even your journey. There is no point A, B, or C. Instead, you make all the decisions on the best ways to make a profit for your crew. The developers don't intend to hold your hand through this one, where you go in the game is your own choice!

I know there will be imperfections. That is what you get when something isnt finished. But for something like this. It's worth it. This isn't some clone of another game. This is literally an idea spawned out of the ashes of other space games.

I know guys I know! :p Just know early access is a double edged sword - although it provides cool guys like you the opportunity to help test/build the game, it also opens up the game for early criticism on incomplete mechanics. Its a pretty rough commitment with early access and my biggest fear is hurting the games reputation before it's had a chance to reach its full potential!

That being said, the crew all has their mind open to the idea. It will only happen if the game feels right.
