October Update
September Update 2
Release date: First quarter 2015
Death Road to Canada is a Randomized Permadeath Road Trip Simulator where every time you play, you're making a unique story. Your group of up to 5 survivors have to journey from Florida to Canada while dealing with starvation, personality conflicts, betrayal, and massive hordes of classic slow, lumbering wall of death zombies. Interactive Fiction Choose-Your-Own-Adventure elements are combined with action-adventure segments where you explore random cities, scavenge for supplies, find new survivors to recruit, and die horribly. This is all done in a colorful game world that doesn't take itself dark-and-gritty seriously.

  • Tons of replay value, with a focus on rare events, unusual situations, and Easter Eggs.
  • Survivors have their own random names, appearances, personalities, and other traits.
  • Robust Interactive Fiction segments, influenced by the personalities of your group.
  • Randomly generated cities you can explore for supplies, but watch out for hordes.
  • Rare Unique Survivors with their own appearances and special events.
  • Survivors keep track of their relationships in the group. It's up to you to prevent them from tearing each other apart.
  • Find and recruit dogs. Most dogs of any game on Greenlight. Rare special event where you can teach dogs how to drive the car.

We're in the stage of development where we're mostly tweaking things and adding content. We have a Kickstarter up to help with that process, which also has an extended video and lots more info. I can also answer any questions you have in the comments section.

Steam keys for the combat build were sent out to Kickstarter backers, it is really fun and challenging even without the CYOA/roadtrip and survivor party dynamics. This page isn't updated nearly as often as the Kickstarter is
The hype definently died, sadly.

The hype died due to lack of public update and overall little acknowledgement of fans. Probably won't sell as well as it could have when it's released, but I'm sure it'll still do amazing as long as they advertise it well.

Really looking forward to this game. Willing to wait until you guys get it right. This could be a classic.
Rocketcat, I'm glad you've at least changed the release date. Every time I see it it angered me that I was so excited for this game a year ago. I hope you start catering to us more, and post more info in updates. We're the fanbase, the backers are the testers. Maybe a new gameplay video, or even just updated screenshots of the now out-of-date rooms. Anything. We all feel left in the dark and a bit betrayed. Personaly I love this game's potential but you're loosing for-sure customers by not paying enough attention to greenlight.

Numa Numa, Flugsten: Sure, done. Sorry about that, we have been catering to the Kickstarter backers more. Once we're done with the early build stuff for them, we can be more open on Greenlight. Until then we just have to keep working. Also, doing an update later today with some news on getting some more new programmers.
Change the damn "release" thing already.
