About the Game

Forge Quest is a dungeon crawling rpg set in a voxel world. Explore the land full of chickens on a light hearted quest to becomes heroes. Delve deep into the randomly generated dungeons to battle monsters, find treasure and craft your equipment. Invite your friends to join your world and help you in your adventure.

Key Features

  • Play individually or network with up to three of your friends.
  • Dynamic world generation and scaling difficulty
  • Collect resources from your adventures to forge powerful items
  • As you level you can choose the path your character takes and what abilities they learn.
  • Several unique dungeons and bosses to conquer
  • Characters can have a pet that assists your quest
  • Voxel Chickens!

Class System
Instead of a traditional system, we use a skill based one. As a character levels they gain skill points to spend into various class lines. The main lines are Warrior, Mage and Rogue. After completing a line you open up two new lines unique to that path. These paths give your character abilities/spells as well as static perks to your character's build.

Crafting
Equipment for your character defines a most of your overall stats. Equipment must be crafted from your crafting menu, using resources that you find or harvest from the dungeons. As you level you can make better versions of items, all with chances of making more unique versions. Equipment themselves also have stats which can be modified using special fragments found in the world, these are spent on equipment to raise their individual stats. All weapons have a unique max for each stat defined on creation.

Dungeons
Dungeons as all rouge likes are randomly generated. We have 4 different dungeons with different looks and enemies. Some are more structured, others are more open and organic. All dungeons have monsters, traps and other various challenges to traverse it. There is a linear order to the dungeons, you must defeat one before moving onto the next dungeon. At the end of each dungeon there is a unique boss that you must fight.

Multiplayer
When you begin the game, you first create a character. This character is not attached to a world, it instead is saved locally. You can then create a world to begin adventuring, or you can connect to a friends world they have created to play with them. The multiplayer is intended to be a co-op environment, so we allow for up to 4 players to be connected together into one world. All progress you make with your character will be saved locally.

When dealing with voxel style graphics there is going to be a lot of similarity as there is only so much you can do unless you increasingly make the voxels smaller and smaller to give you more detail, however, this makes it increasingly harder on even today's graphics cards.

@ƦɅƉ∑LIƬE How can you even compare this to Minecraft? Just because it's using a voxel engine, doesn't mean it has anything to do with Minecraft.
