Sonic Adventure 2: Good Chao and Bad Chao

If you want to know about Chao, you've come to the right place!

Good and Bad Chao

Have you ever wondered why your chao will turn different colors when they are pet by certain characters? Well, if you have, I'm here to answer those questions.


In the picture below you will see Sonic and a white chao, and a picture of Shadow and a dark brown chao. The white chao is what I like to call a good chao, the dark brown chao is a bad chao. I will explain how you can get these chao in the following sections.

Good Chao

To get a good chao, you will need to pet/feed it with: Sonic, Tails, or Knuckles. In doing so, your chao will start to turn white (this is a good thing). When the floating thing above the chao's head turns aqua, your chao is at the highest level of goodness.


When your chao is a full fledged adult it will resemble an angel, and in honor of this event, you will get a new chao garden that you can get to from the chao lobby.





Note: Once your chao is an adult, you can't change it back, it will stay good.

Bad Chao

To get a bad chao you will need to pet/feed it with: Shadow, Rouge, or Eggman. By doing this your chao will start to turn dark brown (this is a good thing). When the floating thing above the chao's head turn light red, he will be as bad to the bone as he can get.


Once your chao is an adult it will resemble a gremlin, and just like the good chao you will receive another chao garden, which can be accessed in the chao lobby.



Note: Once your chao is an adult, you can't change it back, it will stay bad.

there actually called "light and dark chao" good and bad chao are a different kind of chao that you can get by petting it so much it becomes spoiled, to get a good chao you have love it a fair amount of times

There is a spoiled chao, but it's not really a chao tranformation so much as it is the attitude that your chao has. Like if it cries a lot and gets cranky over little stuff it could be considered "spoiled".

Sorry, I'm getting back with you so late! The body color doesn't matter, like if you were to get a colored chao, crystal chao, etc. They wouldn't change color. The ball floating above their heads and changing colors is what matters. So if, for example, you were to use Shadow with a red colored chao, its body wouldn't change color, but the ball above its head would start to turn red and that's what indicates that your chao is turning "Dark". Hope this helped!!! :)

What if you bought an egg and the chao won't turn brown/white but the thing above the chao s the color for the hero/dark Chao?
