No Killmoves, No Killcams, No Killbites

In 1 collection by David Sid
Fixing Cheap Deaths in Skyrim
3 items
Description
This mod disables melee finishing moves, ranged/magic slow-motion kills, and dragon bite-and-throw attacks. The goal is to have more intense fights with less cheap deaths. The only killcam still enabled is the view that's shown when you're already dead.

This mod can also be found on Skyrim Nexus at http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/35362, and thanks to PureModding, there is also now a version for Skyrim: Special Edition at https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/13395.

Testing

(You do not need to read this section to use the mod. It's just there for the curious.) In addition to several hours of informal testing in normal gameplay, more rigorous tests were run to ensure the mod did its job reliably.

First test: On Master difficulty, I provoked an ancient dragon, waited for it to land, set Health to 1 via console, and waited to get killed by a bite.
- Mod disabled: 8 of 20 bite-caused deaths involved killbites (i.e. bite-and-toss).
- Mod enabled: 0 of 20 bite-caused deaths involved killbites.

Second test: On Master difficulty, I provoked a sword-and-shield fighter at close range, set my Health to 1 via console, and waited to get killed.
- Mod disabled: 4 of 40 deaths involved killmoves.
- Mod enabled: 0 of 40 deaths involved killmoves.

Third test: On Novice difficulty, I used a ranged sneak attack to kill a Forsworn Forager.
- Mod disabled: 10 of 40 kills involved killcams.
- Mod enabled: 0 of 40 kills involved killcams.

Fourth test: On Novice difficulty, I used a dualcast Thunderbolt to kill a Forsworn Forager.
- Mod disabled: 14 of 40 kills involved killcams.
- Mod enabled: 0 of 40 kills involved killcams.

Fifth test: On Novice difficulty, I used a two-handed Power Attack with Devastating Blow to kill the last enemy in an area, a Forsworn Looter.
- Mod disabled: 8 of 20 kills involved decapitations, and 12 of 20 kills involved other killmoves.
- Mod enabled: 0 of 20 kills involved decapitations, and 0 of 20 kills involved other killmoves.

Dragons are still killbiting me. Which is the only reason I installed this.

Im run now mage on legendary from the scratch. Its so annoying. I even got 3 killcams from one enemy. Thanks for this mod.

Hey man, thanks for making this. Those stupid killcams ruin the game for real

It's sad that i have to use this mod. Seriously cannot kill anything without the kill cam popping, and often, since i play on legendary, i get one shotted because the kill cam decides to freeze any of my actions until it ends. The kill cam is Bethesdas worst implemented feature in Skyrim, it is so bad and so flawed, and you can't even turn it off. Thanks for the mod.

This is a must-have mod for me. No more "failed killcam with flames cause victim moved and u cant lololol" bullcrap. The ONLY downside to this mod is that it also disables the super cool one-time only killcam with the heartstone in the "Old Friends" quest. Other than that this is the best mod for people who do not wish to constantly go through misscams or get eaten/beaten.

Really nice to have a mod like this when you have mods like Wildcat combat

Ironically the only killcam this mod doesn't remove is the one in the thumbnail.
