Character Sheet - Dakkal
Noverat is a story-driven RPG with the mission to offer a compelling story and meaningful events and quests that immerse players in the world of the game.

Noverat is based on a whole new fantasy world, with the action taking place in Kalandria, a land once under the care of the Shapers, divinities wielding Mist magic. 3,000 years ago events now forgotten made the Shapers abandon Kalandria, leaving the people to struggle in their absence. During the past few years, caught between the ruthless Merchants Guild and the secretive Engineers Guild, many inhabitants of Kalandria have left the safety of the four cities to turn to banditry. Among the turmoil a new faction has now risen, the Forgotten, those still faithful to the Shapers, and many feel there is something ominous about them.
The setting of the game and what has led to the events in Noverat are all explored in depth in a novel we are preparing for those of you who enjoy reading lore books.

In Noverat, you play as Jay'Dan, a blacksmith who inadvertently embarks on a journey across Kalandria, exploring ancient places and facing numerous dangers, old and new.

In terms of gameplay, Noverat features fast paced combat based on combos and skills. You can also craft weapons with custom attributes to fit your combat style and build Mech'ans, constructs of iron and magic, that provide aid at the forge or during your travels.
The many characters you get to encounter in the game each have their own tale weaving into the main storyline and present you with choices lacking black-and-white morality. These choices, the way in which you handle events and quests, and your usage of skills and weapons, all determine the character advancement.

We never played Darkstone unfortunately. As far as I know our 3D artist adapted the generic style of handpainted textures to create a style that matches our lore.

very interesting! I especially like the stand of the camera and the general style of the game =)
the story only adds onto it. I'll be looking forward to the release!
Your logo seems somewhat, uh, unfinished though?
the art behind it is awesome, you should keep it, but 'Novaret' stands alittle bit sore out because of the colour. While it has very nice letters, it just seems unfinished.. somehow?

I agree, thanks for the response. If your future games support Linux they'll certainly be on my radar :)

Thx for response. I'm sure than Linux users (including me) understanding it. Much more sad when you was ignored from game developer that is using Unity. Unity engine allow to create Linux build with few clicks and it's cost nothing, but you still need to test and fix Linux related bugs though.

But for our future projects we'll do our best to have a Linux build as well!
HardHex  [author] Jun 23, 2014 @ 5:24am
Hey folks! Our games are created with UDK. In order to create a Linux build, we need the full Unreal Engine 3. Not only does that cost serious license money, but we're not even sure we can obtain a license for our projects. We're really sorry for all Linux users, but we can't pay more money to create a Linux build than we're making with all the sales of the games across all platforms.
