[PC] Dojo Pigment Farm
By iggy1eco
Hello there Tenno.
You and your clan are now at the moment where you neeed to bring some color, some novelty, some...personality to your Dojo. Other than statues and ponds that is.
You or the architect spawn the polychrome and check you need to unlock those colors. Take a look inside the tenno lab and there is a picture of the animal that drops the pigment. Some are easy, others you're not exactly sure where to farm it properly.
That's what we want to talk about here.

Introduction
The info provided is based on both personal experience and research/math done and found and discussed on the internet from the wiki to discord. Sources and people involved will be cited and any new data is accepted and shall be analyzed (and updated provided it should be the case).
We cared about eficiency but also acknowledge there is also preference of spots for some people. Including us.

Basics
What's a pigment?

It's a resource with the appearance of a bright and small three sided pyramid dropped by specific enemies. They only drop when required research has started in the Tenno Lab (one active at a time) and only those who have it unlocked can see and collect it.

After the required ammount is donated at the lab, the research proceeds and once completed the color shall be unlocked for use in the Polychrome. Only then, you can use it and start a new research.

Things you need! (for best efficiency)

  • Resource Boosters and Resources Chance Boosters: self explanatory.
  • A Team: The more people that need the pigment, the more it drops. Unlike other resources, they are exclusive drops. First come, first get. But everyone can donate to the clan they're in, so nothing is lost. Only one of you need the Drop Chance Booster and it's recommended only the person with the Resource Booster picks up the pigments.
  • Nekros and weapons that dismember: when you kill an enemy its counted as one entity in the game no matter how many body parts you create with a slash weapon then when you use desecrate it tells the game code "hey listen there is more entities ( body parts ) than what you detected so you should recount and drop again",so then the code searches the map again and picks it up as more thefreby dropping more and when you use a resource drop chance booster it increases it chance to drop more thats why if people farm it they run resource chance and drop boosters

Considering the different drop table however, some mobs seem to have guaranteed (100%) drop chance. Others, like Councilor Vay Hek, don't have. Let's use this example: For Councilor Vay Hek Terra Frame, the drop is not 100% guaranteed, it may be 50% from in-game observation. However, having both the Resource Booster and Resource Drop Chance Booster at the same time results in 4 pigments collected; and with the Resource Booster alone only 2 pigments are collected, similar to bosses with 100% drop rate. (Somtimes the pigment will not drop where Vay Hek have died, it's best to search around for a while afterward)

So, in theory, when using a Resource Booster you'll have twice the ammount droped by that mob; and for those with no 100% drop rates, the chances for it to drop should increase...again...in theory. The "math" in the drop rates needs more data for accuracy.

NOTE: Bosses are not affected by dessecrate and that includes the likes of Zanuka Hunter.

Finishing Notes
As you can see, in many missions and provided you have people starting out unlocking nodes or you're starting out yourself, you will find pigments naturally, that is, you won't have to bother going for them on purpose because you'll be getting them as you do your thing and live your warframe life.

But if you're urgent for them, there are always more specific places to make sure it drops hard just like that beat you love. However, some of them are a bit of a b**ch to find or farm properly due to how sparse their spawns are. So the key here is to have the best place to have them spawn the more abundantly as possible so you can dessecrate and pilfer like a sucessful con man.

For pigments originating from corrupted mobs, you can take advantage of endless fissures in the void. Even for the others, you can do endless fissures, because you'll not only be "naturally" farming for pigments, but you'll also get those sweet traces, and doesn't feel like a chore. Note there are cases however, for example, with Leech Ospreys, where endless missions might not be so effective.

When doing missions like capture or mobile defense, do the objective as per usual, but there is, in no way, a need to extract after it. You can always extend your stay and go through every corner of the map killing and looting pigments from the targets, because they still keep appearing, although sometimes, in less frequency, but still more than a mission where you're sure to have a nightmare with.

Updates
Warframe is an ever changing ecology. Bosses locations change. Invasions bring chaos and sometimes things change for a long time. Some information might change in a few updates and with your help, I hope, shall update this guide so those clan color farmers keep doing their job.

Last thing we want is having the working class on strike.

While farming Vay Hek for pigments, I noticed there's a surprising amount of Butchers that are already present on the map. Although they aren't too uncommon, there's about 30 or so which takes about 2 or 3 mins per trip depending on how fast you clear the map.

Thank you Arx. Guide Updated on both languages [ENG][PT] - new preferable locations, if possible to exist, still required to update table

For Olympus Blue do the Defense mission Casta on Ceres. Use Khora with her augment, max range + duration. Make sure you only do 5 wave runs, after wave 7 they become elite lancers.
Digi Aug 30, 2019 @ 1:26pm
Lancers for olympus blue are not on Earth Gaia and Everest because those spawn Frontier Lancer which don't drop the pigment according to wiki.

I would add that some colors seem to be easier to research than others. I do not know all the issues yet, but here is a very rough ordering (from maybe easiest to maybe hardest) based on stuff I think I know, and assuming also that defeating the targets isn't a serious problem for you:

1 Mortus Pink, Kuaka
2 Conductor Gold, Terra Embattor MOA
3 Boiler Red, Phorid
4 Elysium Blue, The Sergeant
5 Jackal Yellow, Sniper Crewman
6 Night Blue, Councilor Vay Hek
7 Mutalist Red, Tar-Mutalist MOA
8 Leech Green, Corrupted Crewman
9 Charger Blue, Toxic Ancient
10 MOA Green, Orokin Drone
11 Glacial Blue, Crewman
12 Syrtis Orange, Arid Eviscerator
13 Shard Black, Vomvalyst
14 River Blue, Seeker
15 Railgun Blue, Railgun MOA
16 Memoriam Purple, Terra Provisor
17 Tower White, Condroc
18 Tharsis Brown, Ballista
19 Autumn Brown, Corrupted MOA
20 01000011 Cyan, Terra Raptor SX
21 Sand Yellow, Scorpion
22 Morning Yellow, Leech Osprey

A tip on Farming Shard Black, take an Ivara. The vomblysts normal attackable form can be affected by Ivara's Prowl and they shall still have a drop afterwards. So you can have 2 chances everytime.
