Old HL2RP memes from Gmod biZ in 2010

While digging through an old hard drive I unearthed some fossilised HL2RP memes. They were from a time when inside jokes were evolving into an art form, with templates like the advice dog spreading through popular sites like reddit and facebook. They were cheesy, but gave birth to the modern meme as something more than obscure references on image boards.

These HL2RP ones I made in 2010 on the first run of the Gmod biZ HL2RP server were of that time - and well liked when originally posted. There's probably some more on another hard disk of mine somewhere. They represent a bit of a casual server with weak roleplay, and character motivation being "they killed my parents". Taco n Banana would laugh at us, but we had fun, and I think we had minimal levels of elitism and abuse in those early years, which was decent for an RP server.

Editing

To make the memes all I did was grab screenshots of the characters, cut around their outlines by coloring the pixels in, then using the transparent selection tool to paste the character onto another image that had colored triangles. The last step was to add text of whatever crazy thing had happened recently on the server. The transparent selection was picky with the colors, so I had to use png files.
