SUCCESS!!!!!!!!!!!! WE ARE GREENLIT. YOU ARE ALL AWESOME! we need to continue to find ways to get the game made. Send people to facebook, (, twitter (, to youtube (, get on our forums ( more excited people we can show to investors and publishers, the easier it will be to get them to see what you all see...that Project Awakened is a game that must be made!

Again, thank you all!!

A Bit Deeper on Details...
- small sandbox hub you can mess around in
- single player side missions to advance the story and world fiction, that you can approach in a huge number of ways based on your ability choices in create a player
- modding that will range from we just allow you to crack it open semi-pro style, to we have a well supported editor that even novices can use (this range depends on how much we raise and/ or how long past launch of open beta)
- MP similar to modding: it will either be something you can do yourself with no front end, so you'll need some skills, right up to us having a lobby, match making, clan support's all about how much we can raise for funding.

Even More Detail...
Project Awakened is a genre-defying game that lets you answer the question: "Who do you want to be?" For the first time in a modern AAA action game, you will have the opportunity to completely define your dream videogame character, from abilities to aesthetics, all while playing in an action-packed world that responds to your personal playstyle.

Then...we want to hand the keys over to you.

We want Project Awakened to not only be a great story and gaming experience, but also an evolving game, a platform that enables you to make the video game character, and even the video game itself, that you've always dreamed of! We'll allow you to use our tools to add new abilities, maps, outfits, and design original multiplayer modes with pre-defined characters.

Pirates vs Ninjas? Last-man-standing Zombie free-for-all? Coop bot stomps? Or something completely different? With the ability to create maps, define character templates for AI AND Players, design new abilities, and mod gameplay rule settings, you'll have the opportunity to create things that nobody has ever seen in a multiplayer action game, and then share it with the world. Using our tools, you don't have to be a programmer or an artist to create something unique - your creativity is your limit

"There is going to be a fairly significant change in how we all think about what a game is...the community...they're building content that is just as good, or better, than what we're building, and they're building it at a spectacular rate"
- Gabe Newell, Opening Keynote, D.I.C.E. 2013

@No One
You're misunderstanding a few things about that.
A publisher traditionally has two major responsibilities.
1: Get the game to the stores/market, after development is done.
2: Fund the game's development, so that the devs don't starve and can pay their rents.
Valve cannot fund the development of all the games that get greenlit. Especially not considering that most of them hardly make any money in return and some never even get finished/released. Thus Valve just provides the job of presenting and selling the games through Steam. The devs need to finance development on their own, unless they find a publisher for that job...which also means that the publisher decides which features actually make it into the game, how it will look, if it's even available for PC or if it will be a console or mobile only game, etc.
