Picking Items Faster

Description
This mod automatically adds your favourite items inside a container/dead body to your inventory without having to click on them in the list. You can easily select your favourite items in-game.

------------------
DESCRIPTION
------------------

Gold and lockpicks, for example, are "items" you always need. Every time when I opened a chest, for me, it was very annoying to manually select them from a list full of uninteresting objects.
So I made up this little mod helping treasure hunters to walk through dungeons more quickly. When you open a container (or loot a creature), it automatically adds the amount of gold and lockpicks (and other favourite items) stored inside to your inventory.

----------------
IMPORTANT
----------------
- A book named "Pif- Choosing your items" is added to your inventory (a second exemplar is in your house in Riften) at the first killed creature you loot (If not, you have to leave your location and try it with another body). With this book you can easily choose the items which are added automatically to your inventory when you loot a chest/body!

- This mod works for almost every container and creature in a dungeon (for creatures it works in the open world, too). CONTAINERS (not Creatures) INSIDE HOUSES OR IN OPEN, CROWDED PLACES ARE NOT AFFECTED, TO PREVENT GAMER FROM STEALING ITEMS UNINTENTIONALLY!

--------------------
KNOWN ISSUES
--------------------

First: If you notice a bug, please report it to me.

- Only those chests/bodies are affected which haven't been looted before. But if you leave a location
the most of them will respawn and, as a result, they will be affected when you came back. ;)

- If there are two or more "added gold" notifications on the upper left corner when you open a chest, don't worry: This is not a bug. The game has various "sorts" of gold and the script is looking for each of them. The player only recognizes gold in the list but this is a composition of different script-relevant types.

- Names of chests and creatures which are affected by the mod are shown in english.
Sorry for that, but this is a creation kit issue which automatically changes every name of an object you work with into its English version. If you don't like it, just unsubscribe and it will be all like it was before. But I also look for a solution.

Even after a few years, this is still one of my most favored mods. Thanks so much!

Still the best mod for this!

Used this for a while also and generally like what it does.
I would prefer options to pick up all potions, all gems, all soul gems, all scrolls, all ingredients, etc. These are generally always low wight high value items I end up looting anyway.

While diagnosing a problem, I noticed that my Skyrim error logs, have tons and tons of errors related to PIF. It seems this mod adds a script to every known container and corpse in the game (which will stay there forever, even if you uninstall PIF... Bethesda's fault).

Couple of issues there:
1. Hugely inefficient bloat, leading to slow downs as reported by others.
2. New containers and foes from mods and Dawnguard won't automatically loot.

Got a bit fed up but still liked the concept, so ended up writing my own mod for this. Just a different approach to providing the same capability. Thanks so much for the inspiration.

I have used this for a couple of months. Great mod! Sure makes life easier, Thanks robbers!

I really like the idea, but the mod slows down my inventory extremely (maybe my PC is too slow). Your script seems to take too much time to look for the items I want from a chest so that picking things up without the mod is faster... Can you do something about that?

WARNING! This mod may mess up Mounted melee combat, it did for me. Might have something to do with this: http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/699347-attention-mod-authors-mounted-combat-and-race-records/
Uninstalling the mod will resolve the issue.

I love this mod, if I could see anything added to it, it would be alchemy ingredients though. Thanks for the effort you've put into it. xD

Can you add an option to pick up weightless items?
