Following the Meet Your Match update, the game has been on a steady decline in terms of the casual player experience from the casual matchmaking system being overall broken and an unpleasant experience, to the way the in-game Competitive mode is a broken mess in its own right. In addition to the problems MYM brought, the game has been plagued by a host of bots and cheating players who actively work to make the player experience worse. Casual is now more like Mann Vs. Machine both in that you will have to play against bot enemies, and that every match is a gamble where you look for the Australium Gold game of 12v12, and often get a one-box match where bots slowly take over the server until all is lost, and you have to engage once again with the grinder that is the MYM Casual system.
