Pretty Amazing for a simple concept: try not to die in a world where everything wants to kill you. It's sense of fair but cruel difficulty really creates a sense of suspense. The fact that EVERY danger can be avoided with enough patience and carefulness is quite the refreshing change to the classic rpg style. Not only that but the story behind everything is just as intriguing and riveting as the game itself. The gaps they leave in order for you to figure out the story for yourself create opportunities for an original gaming experience. Lastly each and every character fell fleshed out and you feel quite sad when they die. Each has a personality and a story whether it ends happily or not. But in reality what can be considered happy and sad, or good and bad endings are determined by the player themselves.
All in all dark souls: prepare to die edition is a incredibly challenging but fair rpg with incredible lore and memorable characters that combine to create an amazing (if not frustrating, but in a good way) game experience.
