In the games current state, I cannot in good conscience recommend this game. Sony has taken the work of an incredibly talented studio and wasted it by forcing users to attach a bloated and insecure psn network account to their steam account, despite most players having already logged more hours than is available in the refund window. PSN is notoriously unsafe for data, and by forcing players to link or create accounts they put their customers at risk, likely just to increase some metric of new accounts created in their next stockbrokers meeting. Here is a list of several of the recent data breaches PSN has gone through just to help show how insecure their servers are.
April 2011: Hackers Access Personal Data of 77 Million Sony PlayStation Network Users
May 2011: Personal Details on 25 Million Sony Online Entertainment Customers Stolen
June 2011: Sony Pictures Website Hacked, Exposing One Million Accounts
November 2014: Hackers Steal 100 Terabytes of Data from Sony Pictures
August 2017: Hacker Group Accesses Sony Social Media Accounts
September 2023: Sony Investigates Alleged Hack
October 2023: Sony Notifies Employees of Data Breach
If Sony decides to walk back this decision of forcing players to either abandon the game or risk their internet safety, I will say that Arrowhead has made an amazing game that is only growing in quality and popularity, but until this is resolved I would say you should not buy this game.
