Early Access Review
I love this game. While I'd make a negative review of it, I think my love/fun memories of it keep it from dipping in the red, that said, this is more of a neutral review about LEGACY. Evrima in time will get my opinion, but I've spent nearly 1,000 in legacy alone. This game, although I do not play it much anymore due to the lag issues in legacy since the developers left it to rot and how frustrating evrima is in it's current state, (and the hint of humans in the future coming into the frame so quickly all of the sudden is just disappointing :I lets hope it doesn't get ruined and become like Ark ) I'm still very adamant that legacy has so much charm to it that I've never really seen in a game. It almost reminds me of WolfQuest as far as the landscape goes, exploring, family mechanics but like 50x more polished and community inclusive. I've played my fair share of carnivore and herbivore, the latter being my preferred play style recently due to the fun I've had in herds, but this review links to both playstyles.

Both herds and packs are absolutely fun, I think the best way to play this game is to join random/friend groups, whether it's discord or steam, but just being with a team and surviving together is what makes this game so worth all the hours I've played. You WILL get salt and drama bc sometimes you'll get lumped into a group with people who don't want to follow rules/man children who want to revenge kill bc they died, but out of the few times I've had people like that in my groups, 90% of the time it's just sweet people who want to build a group up and explore/hunt. It takes a while to get used to the game, how to play, please don't get discouraged within the first 20-ish hours that you play if you can't survive. Learning the maps and your dinosaur is SO rewarding when you manage to survive and win battles. (maia and utah are prob the ones i played the most when I started out and lived to adulthood on several occassions, I recommend that to people struggling to learn the map/mechanics/hunting bc they're fast and durable..)

All in all, this game isn't for everyone, but it really is something different and I recommend giving it some time even after multiple deaths. The admins on most big shot servers can be very power abusive and neglectful, which sucks, but once you find that community you love/familiarize yourself with, it's probably one of the most wholesome and exciting moments in the game. You WILL find a server with a community/rules that suit you, I promise, ask around. Give it a shot, and definitely give grouping with strangers a shot too. That's the most fun way to play, and that's coming from a very introverted female who often gets slandered for being a chick in most games. This community itself is generally really sweet, even in game chat. It's sad to see it untouched in Legacy with no fixing of the weird lag when they attempted to fix ping issues, the dev team isn't very open to change either, but the game is one of a kind and I have so many lovely memories with some of the friends i made on here.

TLDR : Legacy is still charming and the best way to play this game is to play in groups. Dying is part of the learning process for these kinds of games, don't babyrage your first few hours learning and dying.
