Extremely tightly designed game

A great game featuring 20 small mazes and nothing else.

(big spoiler do not open spoiler if you haven't beat the game) I have to admit the plot meandered for a while but when it was revealed that maze 6 was actually a figment of maze 18's imagination the entire time implanted by the neptunian pharaoh to keep mazes 11 & 12 from discovering the time scepter I was shook

Cute puzzler! Does a good job of taking simple ideas and making some interesting unexpected interactions out of them. It's got a good amount of content too, to the point where there might even be a bit too many levels in some areas, but it's got a very open level select so that's not an issue

I'm coming at this from the perspective of someone who loves sokoban puzzle games like Baba is You, Parabox, Stephen's Sausage Roll, and Can of Wormholes.

You should play this game if you like Sokoban. And by that I mean the original game Sokoban from 1982. Nobody likes the original Sokoban, it's basically video game torture. The vast majority of the puzzles in this game are uninspired sludge. They do not have an interesting idea behind them whatsoever, they're just a smattering of elements placed in a manner that requires a bunch of steps to complete. Basically the only interesting idea that the game can come up with in regards to its core mechanic is that if you get 2 tiles in a row and are holding a third, you can make a movable bridge. Every puzzle is just fiddly spatial awareness fodder using that and enemy ai manipulation.

I kept playing this game for as long as I did because I was told that there's some kind of amazing sprawling metagame element where you take notes and uncover clues and all that. I love that stuff to death, Outer Wilds is my favorite game and I loved it so much when that element came up in a certain other indie game that starts with a T that I won't spoil. Looking it up it seems I got through about half the game, I did all of Void Stranger Grey and about half of "hard mode". That element in everything I've played so far is probably about 5% or less of the game. If that element of the game goes crazy 30 hours in then cool but I do not have the willpower to keep playing through all of this pure sludge to get to it, and the elements of it that I've found so far though are not very promising.

The story is a total nothing burger, visuals hurt to look at for extended periods, and most of the music really doesnt fit a puzzle solving experience at all and gets very grating after a while.

Great game but idk why they made a game all about trees and rolling trees and using trees to make rafts then decided to call it A Monster's Expedition, shoulda called it like Timber Isle or something

The cutscenes🎬 are possibly the most flawless😍 sight👀 ever beheld by the human💁🏻‍♂️ eye👁. The sharp 🔪sound of the CLINK👏 when the player’s body👐 dismembers itself 💯 as the death animation 🎵 sends a bone-chilling☠️ shiver down my spine, every single time 🕘I see it👀. I find my self watching 👀my in-game 🎮avatar performing this phenomenal animation ⚰️for hours🕧 on end.
