I came for the Happy Wars nostalgia. so far I'm having a good time. there is definitely some balancing that needs to be done, and if they add a more content it'll shine. although I have my fears they wont add more I just hope they do.

My friend spoiled the biggest twist in the game. I had to pretend to be surprised while streaming when the moment came up.

Early Access Review
I wont fully recommend this game on its game play alone. I like the game because you get to explore the expanding game right beside the dev. its made the game a lot of fun being in the middle of the game and chatting to the dev at the same time.

I have a story for how I found the game.

Me and my friends were looking around steam for bad games. we looked at the trailer for the game. it looked a little interesting. and just a small moment at the end the man looked like he was about to cry. we felt kinda bad. so we said to eachother. "No matter if we enjoy the game or not, we don't refund" so we installed and all hopped in at the same time.

At the start. we had ♥♥♥♥ all knowledge on what to do. we just kinda waddled around using random spells. hell I almost killed my friends multiple times using a spell I didn't know the effects of. this led us to trying to traverse the games first and so far only temple. The Living Ziguraat - Or at least I think that is the name... we learned that certain elements open certain things. that certain enemies are weak to certain elements and that some enemies wont even aggro.... we also learned that temple chests didn't have loot. but that has already been fixed.

my friends had stopped playing the game that first day. but I continued. quickly reaching the games max level and causing something to break. again that was fixed and I still play. because its fun to learn new things. this game throws you into a world that looks unforgiving at first. but with a little bit of patience and thinking about what you craft, you will very quickly learn how to get ahold of the games system. (Hell yesterday I even missclicked and crafted my ring into a potion) But I kept on.

If you want to enjoy this game. join the discord. chat with others and the dev so you have something to help you thru the painful start. enjoy what it has now, and work with the dev. like he said. he needs feedback. and he loves to get it. so hop in, play the game. and maybe you will enjoy the experience I have. having an impact on something, Or just be like me and break a lot of stuff.

This review is a mess but hey. I enjoy the game, you might as well. just join the discord to have more fun. cheers.

The last review! and I just want to say I would reccomend this with flying colours! and I will start with the only thing that isn't absolutely amazing that this DLC offers.

The helmet first. although it doesn't look bad at all. you will struggle to enjoy it fitting nicely with items. or that is just me. it has the stock DLC hat stats of -30% damage reduction, of course. and again, doesn't look bad. the only shiny hat you get in the DLC. if that earns it any brownie points?

And now the bird! "Hugin" this bird fits the title of the DLC pack perfectly. because he is a god send. not only is he large and fricken glows! but along with the stock DLC pet stats of carry weight and zombie detection range bonus, this thing adds on a more damage reduction, take off three quarters the amount of time to revive a team mate. and even if you get hit during that. this guy makes you take less damage while healing an ally! so he definitely takes the place of the tanky bird. and what I personally call him, The revival bird. you can swoop into combat and even heal an ally between boss swings. as long as your timing is on par. because he just makes healing take so damn little time! this guy alone makes the DLC worth it. but the next item just raises the bar up much higher.

Thor's Hammer. this beast of a melee will be your heavy hitter for such a long time. it out damages ALL melee weapons, and when it gets to the point where it no longer does, the weapon can be upgraded to get even better. with the right melee practice you can manhandle enemies and even shred down hordes. just watch your stamina! because this thing will eat it up fast! so this along with the amazing pet can make you a killing machine. so if you are just looking to get ONE DLC or maybe a couple. this should be one of them that you consider. because these items will make your game go smoothly.

The second last review! and this one like said before is very similiar to the Pirate DLC. but this one is a little more interesting

starting with the hat. because the hat actually looks decent. of course it just gives the stock DLC -30% damage reduction. but unlike the Pirate DLC hat. it doesn't look half bad. as well as the fact this one has a much more entertaining cosplay. the three muskateers! not that I ever found two other people with this DLC. but you know, maybe you can eventually. and have your own.

and the weapon! it is looks like a fencing sword. and that is kinda what I wanted it to be. because currently it looks like a mix between a fencing sword. and sword with a fancy hilt. the blade of this thing just looks strange. and like the other sword it just doesn't do well. although it is better than the pirate sword! because it only takes 5 stamina each swing! so yeah. the strange blade happens to make it easier to swing after all.

and now the pet! this thing is the only pet in the game that is tiny! adorable little thing will sit on your shoulder like all the others. just smaller. and this time the stat gains are the stock carry bonus and zombie detection range bonus, but then some sprint speed and health bonus. I guess his smalll size makes him weigh you down less. go a bit faster with him on you unlike all the other bigger DLC birds. and I would say it is the tank bird, but that goes to the last DLC bird I will be reviewing.

again, this DLC is just not something I can see being used outside of fun moments with friends. so only get it if you have plans with the items. otherwise they will claim dust in the private trunk.

The next review in my series of reviews on all the DLC this game has to offer. what I must first say is that this DLC is very similiar to the Muskateer DLC until you reach the pet.

and this is why. you start with your hat. the hat for this DLC is not the best looking. but just like the other hats gives -30% damage reduction. the only way I can see this hat having a use is if you are going for something with friends or just trying to play the game with a bit or pirate style.

the same goes for the sword. when talking about the DLC weapons, this one really falls under others. it isn't quick enough to be in a category with the daggers. and it isn't strong enough to fall into the category of the hammer. I found I never used this except once when I was with a streamer and I said I was just going to be a pirate. hense how I explained before you will likely just use this stuff for the cosplay aspect.

and now the pet. where this DLC gets it individuality. the pet parrot this pet is for surviving. giving more thirst and hunger gauge to make you take longer before starvation or dehydration. and a scavenge bonus, to help find more items off zombies. and of course the carry bonus as well as the zombie detection distance. and just like all the other DLC birds it takes a place right on your survivors shoulder.

sorry if I haven't added much comedy into this. I just don't use the items and thus far have no funny situations to put in the review.

I'd say I reccomend this just for collecting all the items purposes. and the occasinal uses. but beyond that the DLC will just go uselessly into your private trunk.

The second in the non story DLC reviews!

This DLC is in the top for me. and I still use these items all! also I am tired when writing this one! so bare with me everyone! :'>

So first off, because it is the easiest to talk about. is the helmet just like all the other DLC helmets in this series of reviews it gives -30% damage reduction. this excludes the hat from the last review where you can see about it in that review. of course.. <.> the helmet is the classic edgy look. hey im a military boi. and yeah I go with that. it fits the survivor look in my mind. and I get to be edgy!

next is the beautifal pet. this is one of the only two DLC pets I use. because this drone boi makes you take less time to target enemies. and you do more damage! it is extremely good in solo and even in mulitplayer. also it beeps alot. beep boop! also be sure to not mistake it for an enemy as it flies to you real quick like through the trees.

and the gem of DLC the gun! this is god like early game and stays godlike through out the rest of the game. although you will get a very noticeable damage drop if you decide to stick with stock ammo like me. and will go from 1 hit headshot kills. 1 shot headshot then bodyshot. then 2 headshots to kill. but it is also good for spamming down the horde after you if you decide not to charge your shots. and with all the attatchments you can make it your spray down machine you always wanted. although it will also be outgunned by craftable 8mm assault rifles. it looks so much better! and you can upgrade it eventually to be stronger once again! so win, win! woo!

sorry for this one being messy! I am damn tired it is 2:15am when I finished this review. hope this was somewhat interesting. and maybe it swayed your choice

My reviews for the DLC in the game that don't actually add storyline will begin with this one. AND I will be explaining them in mind that I have ALL of the DLC. so things will be compared to other DLC. I do reccomend getting most of the DLC this game has. but some not so much because it only has a place if you are trying to look a part. or just enjoy the way the weapon or cosmetic item looks! with all that said. lets begin!

First. and the biggest reason to get this DLC. is the beautifal and useful Abandoned Backpack that the DLC is mostly based around. it is said you get the items from this. but it's more than that. not only does it look much nicer than the backpack you start with, but it gives you extra carrying space. which you will come to learn is very very useful as you get into the game.

Second! the daggers! these bad boys are the only duel weilding melee you are going to have until you have progressed a fair bit into that game. but even then, they are best early game or for fighting zombies in camps way under your level. they can pick off a zombie with time as long as you keep your skills up to par. but they suffer damage fall off as they are one of the only DLC weapons you cant upgrade outside of skills, the other would be a grenade launcher, but that does have attatchment slots so I am not yet sure if there is things to place on it. so these daggers will be a major hinderance later game. but you can replace them further down the line with a much better Non DLC duel wielding melee.

Third! the hat! This is the most.. Fun, DLC hat the game offers. it just has the 'derpy' factor to it that all the others don't. because yeah you don't expect anyone to wear this kind of thing! it gives very small buffs to defense and ups your scavenge skill. but I can guarantee it will only find itself in the vanity slot of your character after a few hours of play.

And now lastly! because I forgot about this darned thing! the pet! a very dissapointing pet for such a decent pack. the pet gives the normal DLC pet stats of carry weight bonus and zombie detection range bonus. but then just a small quarter time taken off the amount of time to revive an ally. which is insanely outdone by the DLC pet in the last review I made. so overall. the pet of this DLC is quite bad.

None of the stuff in this DLC is needed to beat the game. but the more things you have to play the game with the better.
