This game fulfills so many childhood dreams for me.
I honestly feel that this is the best trade based rpg i have played.

It has a little bit of everything, the fact that the ship combat and crew combat is so different from each other while still drawing on the same base mechanism is fun.

Having to choose between ship, crew and passive utility abilities for each crew member as they level up, plays right into my obsession with this genre of game.

I may be biased as I was a big fan of Star Trader when it came out.
But Star Traders Frontiers has taken everything from that game and expanded it beyond what I could have ever expected. That's not to say it's perfect. the game has had some hiccups, it's fair share of clunky interface problems, but they never take to long to fix or refine them.
And they are always adding more and more to the game, it's obvious that the developers like what they do and want to provide a good game for people to really immerse themselves in, and I think it pays off.

You can follow the interesting stories in the game, be a pirate king or mercenary, or just try to get rich running a trade route and doing errands for some prince.

If you liked games like the Ur-Quan Masters, Space Rangers or Sid Meier's Pirates, you will probably like this game.

And the best part is, besides being packed with features and theme, the game runs on my 10 yr old pc using on board graphics.

I am a huge Trese Brothers fan girl, so I am biased but these are my thoughts

This is an amazing game, Good writing, good art style, and a really nice theme. Plus the game runs great on my old cheap PC so that is always a good sign.

I was a Big fan a Star Trader and this game really ties into the others in the setting well. The Trese Brothers continue to surprise me with the quality of their games, and they sell at very reasonable prices.

I would recommend this game for anyone who likes deep strategy RPGs, and if you are a fan of Warhammer 40k or Dune, this game really captures the best elements of those to settings.

The one problem with the game is that I have found my self sitting at my PC and spending hours tweeking my troops and planning for the next mission,

It doesn't suck you in at all. lol
