So many wonderful ideas wasted. The Environment is fantastic, characters off at times but otherwise at least nice (Ferris was great in the beginning). However I have the same complaints as everyone else, combat loop is great when there's only one enemy (one *regular* enemy), add even just one more and it becomes clunky and annoying. The mini-bosses feel clumped together to the far later half of the game and are either too easy to fight through repetition or the dodge ♥♥♥♥♥ you over and they ignore the fact you ever held down A or D. The monsters, while cool the first few times, quickly become bland, uninspired mutated zombie #8732. The atmosphere had a hard time grabbing me, and I feel the "horror" in "survival/action horror" was lacking in every area except Jacob's partner and how Jacob is dealing with that.

Spoilers for important story stuff (as in, large reveal at the end).
The ultimate reveal is that everything that happened on Europa and Black Iron was orchestrated by a "shadow cabal" with Warden Cole attempting to speed up human evolution by using this virus they found in the underground ocean of Callisto.

A lesser issue, but shadow cabals are overdone, have not-so-great origins, and cause my interest in the story to plummet the second it's introduced. In the beginning I was captivated by the mystery of why this was happening, the reveal was a letdown. I did quite enjoy your perception of Dani from "terrorist" to well, the one in the right.

Good ideas, bad execution.

Near the end I found myself annoyed (keeping in mind I generally don't), and continuing out of spite. That same annoyance fuels this review. We finally got a finished game this year, I guess?

In the end, I managed to enjoy myself in the good parts, and am sad that the bad ended up overshadowing. I feel the love that went into certain aspects, would love to play more with those expanding, but for now I have no plan for a second playthrough.
