After having around 2,600 hours on ARK: Survival Evolved, I finally feel like I can write a review on it and have it be fair and honest.

I love this game. My playtime hours show that. But, keep in mind, just because I like this game, doesn't mean you will like it, or doesn't mean you need to enjoy it. However, I absolutely recommend this game for anybody who loves survival games and dinosaurs. Let's get into the review.

Pros!
- Dinosaurs! Not only dinosaurs, however, as the game allows you to interact with, tame, breed, and fight dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures. If you purchase the various Expansions for the game (or play on the Ragnarok map), you also get the ability to tame fantasy and alien creatures.
- The game offers hours of fun. As shown by my playtime, you can spend hours playing this game and not even notice. Whenever you get bored of your current survival session, you can always take a break from the game, restart and have a fresh new experience with new challenges awaiting you.
- Massive map(s) that offer tons of exploration and building room. The Island and Scorched Earth are definitely the smaller of the various maps, but the other official maps (Ragnarok and The Center included) are absolutely massive. My favorite map visually is Aberration. Travelling around the map will reward you with beautiful scenery, new creatures, new resources, and new challenges. If you ever get bored of the maps that come with the game and expansions, you can always go to the Steam Community Workshop to find a new, player-made map for a whole new experience.
- The difficulty (mainly in expansions). ARK is a challenging game for new players, but that isn't a bad thing. As you obtain knowledge throughout your adventure, you can apply that knowledge to future tasks or when you restart to play on a fresh character. Found a good resource location on the map? Mark it for later use to gather that material in bulk, or remember it for a later playthrough to help make obtaining that resource easier.
- The game has bosses. The base game and all three expansions have their own bosses. Although bosses are something I couldn't care less about, the rewards you get from them are worth it. While the basic bosses aren't that challenging, their later variants (especially Alpha bosses) are extremely tough and give greater rewards.
- Community involvement. The ARK community is always creating custom mods for the game. Some mods make mechanics better and easier to use, others develop entirely new maps for you to play on, and some change the game by adding new features, such as new creatures to tame and fight.

Cons...
- Not the best optimization. Yeah, everybody pretty much knows this about ARK. The game is a nightmare to run on weaker PCs. My old PC had a lot of memory and a good graphics card, but it barely ran the game at 40 frames at all medium settings. My new PC (which I got recently at the time of writing this review) runs the game perfectly fine at epic settings, but the computer is very beefy. Be warned, your PC might not be able to run the game well.
- Bugs, bugs, bugs. Again, pretty much everybody knows this game has bugs. Some of them minor, some of them major. As a strictly PvE player, a lot of bugs don't bother me (meshing) as much as they would bother a PvP player.
- Official servers are a demon from hell an should never be touched by any self-respecting human being. If you want the nightmare experience of ARK, play on an official server. The game is completely different. In fact, when playing on an official server, you might as well not be playing a video game at all. Trust me, just don't play on official servers.
- The development team isn't the greatest. While they're no AAA development studio, Wildcard has a lot of issues. I won't be getting into detail with this, mainly because it has nothing to do with gameplay, but it's still a con.

Like I said in the beginning, I love this game. In my opinion, however, it is probably the best to get this game on sale, as I, along with others, believe that the game costs too much. Getting it on sale will offer you the best experience, since you can play for more than two hours and not have to worry about not getting $50 back if you don't enjoy it. And if you do enjoy the game, well that's good, since you got it at a reduced price.

That's really all I have to say. Comments are open for any questions or whatnot, or to leave your personal opinion about the game for me to see. I have a blast playing this game and recommend it for any of you out there that love survival games just as much as I do. Peace.

You can play as big beef man who is super good with your friend playing as an old librarian who is so badass she beats moles to death with her walking cane. In other words, its fun.

Do you want a game where you can play as a fast man who is annoying as hell, captain rocket-jumper, human charizard, a one-eyed terrorist, fat sandwich man, texas personified, german medi-man, secretly from New Zealand Australian man, and the invisible one-thousand degree burning knife? Then TF2 is the game for you. It's much better than that so called "Overwatch" game. There are cool hats, cooler hats, and sparkly hats too. Theres also a lot of fun and awesome cosmetics to customize your character, whether it be the gibbus or the scorching flames team captain. Don't forget taunts. They're the best thing in any shooter. Conga to your death with the... conga taunt. Moscau to your death with the kazotsky kick, and most important of all, tell your opponent whos the boss with them swanky unusual taunts you either spent $800 on or unboxed for $2.50. Download TF2. Its a good game and its better than Overwatch.
