I don't write reviews often, so sorry if this sounds like I'm rambling.

I want to start this review off by saying the game PLAYS very well. The gameplay is solid in multiplayer and campaign for the most part. I play campaign with people who don't live super far away. There is a noticeable input delay, but not terrible. I enjoy the gameplay itself across both multiplayer and campaign.

The execution and some new systems introduced into reach on PC leave a bad taste in my mouth. The progression system is nothing except for linear. You level up, and you get a "Season point" to spend. However, you can only spend that season point, for THAT level, on one specific item/small group of items. So, everybody follows the same linear unlock tree. Reach used to have a much better credit system where you'd have the option to choose from a handful of unlocks per level. That was much better.

They also removed map voting in multiplayer. All players in a lobby get a random map chosen. This is awful in my opinion, and I see no reason at all to remove a feature like that. If you disagree, feel free to shoot me a message. I won't berate you, I'm just genuinely curious if anybody is happy with map voting being gone and why.

The thing that has upset me the most is something in campaign. My friends and I started our LASO playlist on day one. We worked hard and beat mission after mission slowly. I crashed on our playthrough of Long Night of Solace. You CANNOT join back once you crash. Okay, whatever, a little annoying but no big deal. I'll just beat the rest of the campaign with them, select that mission again later, put it in Legendary with All skulls on, and beat it again. NOPE! Tonight me and a buddy played through that mission again so that I could have beaten LASO. However, the achievement is to beat the LASO PLAYLIST. You can NOT select a mission in the playlist, meaning I would have to start all the way from the beginning of the playlist again just to get that one mission done eventually. You can select single missions to play outside of the playlist, but your progress on selecting a single mission does not go towards the playlist. Therefore, no achievement for me. Ouch. That's a good 30 hours down the drain.

The game feels good. It's halo on pc, and it feels as good as it sounds. Until the above things are changed or at least acknowledged by 343 though, I cannot recommend this game. The Xbox experience was much better, minus having to use a controller.
