Each server is filled to the brim with toxic acro/rex players and in general massive toxicity. There is not a single server with decent admins that don't have their own following of favorites theyll fawn over and tend to their every whim, lavishing them with grows and "That didnt happen, get over it." Had 2 adult rexes massacre an entire herd, and when I respawned an hour later the gores where still there untouched. This was a body down server but because the two rexes donated and kissed the admin's behind they got off skotch free. And this is how it goes for ALL servers.

You thought the isle was bad? This is much worse. Anthomnia had the right idea to bash it, but not even for the mechanics. Just the horrible players. The moment you fight back or do anything against the admins pwecious babus uwu youll be kicked, banned, and insulted beyond belief.

That or all the other servers speak nothing but russian and you'll constantly be murdered by hackers.

In the current state, I wouldnt reccomend unless you're making your own server. Not fun, not at all. Not without a crap ton of friends to defend you from the 5.0 rexes the admins gave two homocidal players to flounce around on.

I couldn't even make a character, it kept freezing and crashing..

In the game's current state, I wouldn't really reccomend it. Everyone and their mother plays an apex, EVERY server is full of mass amounts of rulebreakers, and most servers have replays disabled due to exploition, which makes it impossible to report for some people.
While some carnivores can definitely battle with the apexes, all herbivores are just weak and defenceless. Dondi took every unique trait they had [Bone break and such] and threw it away, and the same with carnivore. The rex is undisputably favored by the developer.

The game is unbalanced, frustrating and hard to play, but it is fun for some quick time as friends if you're ok with being murdered or starving 50b times as you learn. VERY toxic community.

Edit: its been YEARS since my review and even from evrima stuffs just gotten worst. Now its a FPS dropping mess with zero hitbox sense. I can slam right into the middle of a dinosaur as a troodon or omni and my pounce wont hit but then I get bit from 50 yards away and that connects. Dont waste your money.

Marketplace assets, the "models" they preview range anywhere from mediocore, beginner level models to suspiciously hyper-detailed ones, that still look old and reused from something else. Nothing to do, no clear direction to even change maps.

Still would not recommend this game, they removed ALL feeding stations in favor of the only food source being, drum roll please.. POISONOUS BUGS THAT KILL YOU OR OTHER PLAYERS! YAY! You spawn in high grass far from anything and die quickly of thirst and hunger, and if you're fortunate enough to find a bug, congratulations! You're going to spend the next thirty minutes healing, and by the time you're done?
Time for another poisonous bug!

Your main options are murdering other babies [not an easy task], eating these, or starving. To release the only food source as deadly was a stupid move on the devs part, but as usual, they genuinely couldn't care less.

The models are bad. The animations are mediocore and glitchy. It's sad the marketplace assets looked better and we all waited over a year for a poorly rendered toothless rip off and a drake that's an ENTIRELY different style. You go from cartoony night furies to the overly rendered acid drake who looks like he came straight from a early 2000s dungeon crawler.

Updates are few and far inbetween. Most updates aren't anything helpful, mainly "fixed text" or "Fixed small bug" when said bug isn't even fixed.

Buy this if you enjoy falling under the world, griefing, dying, and waiting years inbetween updates.

This game still sucks. Knock off toothless and Generic fire Dragon are your only free options. The game play loop sucks, theres no rewards for growing up, eldering isn't rewarding, nested stats barely affect anything, and the community all around just sucks. The admins and mods are on power trips.

Oh man where do I get started with this game.

First of all, the sound track is flat out obnoxious, it's actually painful to listen too.

The art style is to the point where the characters pretty much all look the same face-wise, and like theyre always smiling. As though someone took the same exact face and added maybe 1, maybe -2- small small edits to differentate emotion.

The writing is just, boring. It's a hard game to follow because you don't want too. The tropes are obnoxious with your superb male hero and that ONE mechanic nerd and that ONE gorgeous elven chick.
