Perfectly encapsulates a mish-mash of N64-era platformer vibes while also bringing a ton of originality in design and tone to the mix. And on top of that, it plays amazingly, too! It just feels GOOD to move this little goat-thing around, and the animations make it constantly entertaining to watch it happen-- even falling onto your face repeatedly! Whenever I made a ridiculous blunder and lost a chunk of progress it didn't even matter because even watching them splat onto the ground was so satisfying and amusing.
It's fairly easy to casually waltz through the game, but getting all the extra content is no joke. It tests your platforming chops as well as your puzzle n' exploration skills, and there are really a lot of head-scratchers without seeming too obtuse. And with this game being so fresh and under-the-radar at the moment, it really gives you that feeling of being a kid in front of their N64 with little-to-no documentation about the secrets online to help you. Probably not for everyone, but I appreciated it!
The music is great, too! The first area theme especially is great, and it has that dynamic soundtrack thing going on where the instruments shift around depending on the area you're in. There's just an attention to detail literally everywhere that was endlessly impressive for something that just seemingly Showed Up like this game, at least from my perspective. I just want more of these characters and this world! I really hope the creator does more with these guys and/or this engine/world because there really is something special here.
