A fun game. It isn't polished at all, but it is also free, so I can't complain.

Only thing I found annoying enough to hurt the experience is the rocks. If they explode in a certain way, it takes forever to cross them due to the physics on them.

Also the story is actually really cool, I like this weird magical western world.

Its DragonBall FighterZ. You know, the where I could tell you that you had to pick only goku and you would have a surprising amount of options. You know, the game where literally teleporting behind someone is 1 bar. You know, the game that has most character's L auto-combo used in regular combos. You know, the game that features really, really good 3v3 fighting game mechanics, and the stupidest ToD routes I have ever seen in my life.

You know, that game.

Might as well write a review. For context, I played the closed beta.

I would honestly wait a few days before buying on release, just because the online issues are very bad. I remember seeing a streamer unable to play the game because she couldn't team up with her friends. And even if you don't have friends like me, I would randomly be dropped from games, and sometimes just would refuse to join games. It would also let the devs fix the balancing, as some classes are much more powerful than others (example, psykers were such a disappointment for me. Not just because the powers were underwhelming, but because they literally could do anything, except maybe being a melee tank, better than everyone else).

HOWEVER

If these issues are fixed, this is an extremely good game. Even with the psykers, the game is absolutely fun to go though. I picked up zealot and had so much fun suicide charging into groups of enemies and playing Metal Gear Rising by myself. The gunplay is fun, if a bit underpowered right now, and the options available for the beta were fun. These are the same creators as Vermintide, and so the combat system is pretty good from what I can tell (I never played Vermintide, just seen videos). The game's visuals are a bit... bland, but beautiful nonetheless. Places kinda blend together, but certain rooms where important things happen stand out. The music is going onto my Spotify as soon as I find it, who knew gothic chanting would be such a banger.

I can tell you from the 90ish hours I spent trying to play this game competitively, that I am absolute garbage, and my opponent will never expect the 15th demon slayer.

The grappling hook is fun to use, and the speedruns of this game are unhinged. Other than that, this is a very standard third-person shooter, just with requirements of using the grapple hook to flank enemies.

Did I sell like half my inventory of items on the market just to play a character that I didn't even know if I would like, purely on the basis that her arcade ending made me cry?

Yes.

Do I regret it?

No.
