“Giraffes do not exist”
I have never seen a giraffe; therefore, they do not exist on the same physical plain as me. Now I know that you believe that giraffes exist since you’ve probably seen one for yourself, but personally I have not. Now I’ve seen them in photos, drawings and in documentaries but never seen one in person. I have gone to enough zoos that I should have noticed one, and it's kind of hard to miss a striped and moving skyscraper eating a tree, yet in my 17 years on this earth I have never seen one, except I don’t think I have.

I’ve thought about this predicament for a while now and I've concluded that my refusal to fully acknowledge the striped animal’s existence is closely related to the argument of how legitimate any form of religion is. Now before I lose you, since Ive lost myself at this point, think about it, what is the most common reason people follow a religion? They want to believe in someone or something greater than themselves that will bring peace to the universe before and after death. Yet most of these believers have never seen god in any form. How can one believe in something they’ve never seen, and if you ask any of these followers if they believe in the existence of unicorns? I had asked one of my Catholic friends this exact question. His response? “I’ve never seen one. How could I believe in something I’ve never seen?” I’m not sure how could one believe in something they’ve never seen. Have you ever seen a unicorn? Or even God himself? (If you have, mind sending him my way, he hasn't been returning my calls)

Now I know my point may seem childish, and it very much is, but it opens room for discussion on not the psychological factor but the social factors that are found within the human mind. We believe what we want to believe in based on person experience. Yet most of this experience comes from reading books or observing photos and paintings. Giraffes do exist we all know this, but that’s not my point. My point is what I have stated multiple times in previous sentences, as humans we only believe what we want to and that is what makes us who we really are, a bunch of false believers in giraffes.
