God I so wanted this to just be a good update to the original lego star wars games. I grew up playing the very first and second lego star wars games as well as the complete saga. I wanted this to be kinda how the complete saga was for the first and second games with some graphics modernisation. It very much isnt.

Pros:
- Graphically it is an awesome update and great to sight see
- Combat is a bit more indepth than the original games* (check cons on block)
- Sound is as good as ever for star wars
- Animating the lips moving on the characters even during mission as well as when they exert themselves is great

Cons:
- After you do a handful of the Kyber bricks you start to realise how daunting of a challenge the collection of all of them is going to be on top of the minikits and red bricks from original games
- Story missions frankly suck. they are so compressed and dumb down that it is a real shame. Evidently i have not played through much of the game but having read a few other reviews it just goes to show how much of an issue it is
- They removed the block button? I know this sounds a bit weird but timing blocks as a jedi was always cool now it kinda just seems like it auto deflects back to the person shooting. you use to have to time that?
- The great graphics kinda seem like window dressing. There is a distinct feel of emptiness to the large areas which feel like they are trying to make up with good graphics but it just comes across like putting lipstick on a pig
- Frame drops happen. this will no doubt be fixed for the most part but it does happen
- Losing the ability to create custom characters. This one was really weird for me why would you remove something that worked and was fun such a bizarre one
- Why make it rpg like with the skill tree upgrade? this just makes it so much more complicated than it needed to be. Why on earth make lego star wars into something it is not? Kyber Bricks were a bad add. All this has done is shift what was already mostly available in the game through red bricks and made them separate.
- Finally doing what all open world/ open world lite games like this one do, and that is create unnecessary busy work to complete the game

The only time I would recommend this game is if the complete saga version is not being sold, you have never played the complete saga and this is on sale for half the price they are currently charging. Sorry TT i know you guys poured your heart and soul into this one and were forced to deal with stupid crunch to get it done but this is a miss. Sadly think this is gonna be the last we see of lego star wars for a long time if not until disney decides to reboot the franchise which i doubt they will do with the TV shows they are churning out for the foreseeable future

Once upon a time this was the biggest game out there. Now it has slowly died out. Im not entirely sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing
