fantastic zombie game which I can see why had its own identity of uniqueness back in the day standing out from the factor of just killin zombies as an asset to its enjoyment. not that it doesn't give you the freedom to just slaughter massive hoards of undead, which it does as zombies inhabit every nook and cranny of the majority of the map which functions as a danger zone teeming with undead, durability on weapons make it a necessity though to manage how you plan on surviving an encounter with the hoards of your location. it shines in consideration for how it presents urgency for the overall runtime of its story, content and plot. the game is strictly stuck to a ingame 72 hour internal clock that lets you only take on certain tasks or encounter certain benefits or obstacles at particular moments, meaning missing out on content is entirely up to the players choice of freedom, it would be rediculous to expect someone to go through everything in a game like this in one go, but the way it seemlessly plays out and encourages multiple playthroughs with a progression system to frank even if the player decides to start a new game mid playthrough is a unique and interesting concept that made me less stress about the concept of missing out but still feel invested to the actions I took with the overall characters well presented personalities and attributes giving me a proper surface idea of thinking that I was actually interacting with properly fleshed out ideas of different survivors, and well intuned concepts for fighting with psychopaths that range from violent scum taking advantage of the chaos or nutscases that snapped under the pressure of the collapse of the town.

i give it a solid 7, because while not a perfect game an assuredly having frustrating moments its a unique zombie survival scenario that set a precedent for both goofy and grim circumstances and likely inspired the some quirky instances while not forgoing the fact that "its a game, have fun in the space given to you"

its like a tech demo almost for a really bad lackluster shooting/puzzle game. it definetly has the feeling of ahobby project but pushes itself and the sloppy narrative forward with the awful premise of it feeling like its setting you up for something bigger, where as its poor zombie esque AI and ♥♥♥♥♥♥ tanky stronger zombie dudes are really just piss poor obstacles that only prove challenging in the crappy arena mode which is you being trapped in a tiny box of a room killing dudes and doing quick time events for eternity

i give it a 1, for being a lame demo with some snappy aesthetics to try to cover its soggy cardboard consistency

played this because I thought I might as well see if with a bit of modding wolfenstein was something I could at least try out as a little side in the background while watching a show or something. I did not anticipate that despite being very much minimalist in its presentation, gameplay and overall depth of what it has to offer for innovation it is addicting like crack.
its like the vampire survivors of boomer shooters, the little things that happen on the screen all the blips, blams and death screams scratch the itch in my brain for stimulating on screen action so much that I beat it and spear of destiny back to back in one nonstop session because it was a hypnotic trounce through "k one more level. strafe the rooms, hug the walls, empty the mag into badguy *aieee* repeat"

i give it a doubtful 6, largely fun and addictive so long as you don't mind the dated overarching strcuture of the game itself, its a neat little thing to spend an afternoon on if you just feel like shootin nahtzis for the sake of shootin nahtzis

a neat little gimmick golfing game, doesn't take its own mechanics too seriously for the sake of just enjoying goofy golf fun in robots that use special moves and functionally plays out like a decent mini-game in the sense that pushing into the depth of gameplay is unfortunately lackluster and feels more like investing time into getting a feel of muscle memory for taking on harder challenges. theres also a goofy story that is a good laugh with some nice little custcenes and art, a multiplayer that I'm not sure still exists but feels like a one afternoon thing to try with friends if anything

i'd give it a 5 being a simple easygoing golfing goof application

a walking sim dedicated to the idea that viewing multiple galleryesque landscapes and distinct colour pallet or art style worlds with their own themes and moods joins the collective pool of video games as a medium of art. just wander around, enjoy the scenery, some music to accompany it, bright and intense here, calm and mellow there. not particularily my cup of tea as it feels quite aimless but it certainly has its nice moments

i give it a 4, not particuarily being a fan but not really seeing any faults that wouldn't hold back someone who'd like this sort of idea for taking an afternoon or two to explore the kaleidoscope worlds. I could live with or without it

35 minute playtime for what was essentially walking around a sewer with the goal of just simply finding 4 key items and then walking towards the exit and leaving/getting and ending that you'd already figured out halfway through the game

the shouting mechanic with the mic/just simply pressing a button was a non factor for me because as soon as you find the map everything about where you need to go is known, and with that in mind this game is advertising a monster roaming around in the tunnels which might be true if I actually used the shouting mechanic to draw him near but other than the one time where I entered the non linear part and spammed the shout button he never made a single appearance. oh but don't worry you have a mid gun for taking care of the 3 infected normal rats that scurry around this massive sewer complex if you care to actually fire it. I didn't because running around them was all I needed

the scare factor of this game is wholeheartedly terrible. if anything having something creepy scurry in the corner of your eye like a floating ghoul woman, a man crawling on all fours, or a hand holding the wall that retracts back when you get close is cool, but its static and since this isn't a movie I know its just a passive little animation that is there simply for the aesthetic of oooo something spooky. but when this game said there was a no jump scare mode I was like huh I wonder why, but its because it continues the rich history of indie horror gaming with loud obnoxious screamers that are slammed into your ears popping out of nowhere in existence that fill me with dread for permanent hearing loss. I think the only spooky aspect I actually like with the game were a singular enemy encounter involving being trapped and needing codes.

If I were to give this a reccomendation, from a scale of 1 to 7, 1 being don't even consider playing this as a joke and 7 being a must play, I would have to give it a 2 for being bad in the sense that its dull, uninspired, lacking depth, and unsurprising. if you want overpriced underwhelming generic horror content this is for you

DLC might be broken as the crew member can apparently just buff himself consistently throughout the match so much so that you can outrun the reaper, thus making me wonder if I can killer the reaper beyond what was intended and confirming that the crew member is canonically one of the most powerful entities in vampire survivors 10/10 dlc

Personally I like squirrel stapler, not that its amazing but a decent game in itself however this was a game released in a collection of other games in association with dreadx2 a long time ago, and the added content certainly does not seem like something I believe anyone should be spending 10$ cad on even though it supports a great dev. this is all listed in the description clearly however so buyers discretion I guess, I'd rather get something new from Dave to spend my money on like another iron lung or chop goblins

yeah not a great product despite the fact its going for a solid idea.
pros
- flashlight limited sight for tension
- sixth sense letting you plan ahead
- decent layout of a roguelike genre
cons
- terrible ai, some ai are braindead and will attempt to try walking through walls, which lets you kill them there and then because you can melee things through walls, one particular enemy if you stand behind them will never turn around because they aren't start enough to do that and try to keep attacking the nothnig in front of them
- prone to crashes several times during loading screens in runs. very cool no comment
- accuracy is god awful, standing still or moving and regardless if you take an upgrade it's going to be stupid due to the fact as a roguelike ammo is scarce and you need to save it accordingly
- you need to purposely kill things to move ahead to next levels for 90% of your floors. the only terrible design for this game ive seen so far, especially when there are particular enemies that need bullets to be killed sometimes for meeting your quota to get to the next floor so just get softlocked if bad rng and the terrible accuracy system ♥♥♥♥♥ you over
