Sayonara Wild Hearts plays like a smooth ride. 10/10. Smooth controls, killer soundtrack, dope visuals. Style forces substance into submission and restrains it with how pleasing it is. No complaints here.

Its creators have somehow crystallized the concept of fun into a heartbroken woman skating through constellations and busting down her misfortune dealt from fortunetelling cards. It's like the most game-y game I've ever played. There are only ~20 or so levels. Its mechanics are simple -- there are only five buttons in game. The soundtrack makes me want to dunk my head in bucketsvapor of purple and orange paintwave, buy a synthvaporwave, and wave goodbyevaporwave to the outsidevaporwave worldvaporwave vaporwave forever vaporwave.

All of this coupled with a retro aesthetic results in a nostalgic yet timeless mood. Literally couldn't stop myself from smiling the whole way through. Furthermore, I now have a sudden, inexplicable urge to shuffle my tarot deck and read my horoscope. I didn't ask for this.
