It has it’s own twist, so it doesn’t feel like a Pokemon ripoff. Although a big part of the hype was the idea of Co-op pokemon, it’s unfortunately poorly executed. When you play Co-op all it does is split your 2 parties, so you play with 3 temtem on your team, and your co-op partner has 3. This means you only ever get to use half a party with cooperative play. The drop in drop out co-op is super smooth and makes up for it a bit. The game itself has fresh, new, creative mechanics and an adorable cast of TemTem. It’s level scaling/pacing of the main story opponents are even better than Pokemon, thus feeling like a more appropriate difficulty. All in all its a great game and surprisingly polished despite being in Early Access. There are a few bugs, mainly Co-op related, but the Dev team are extremely quick from what it seems. Patches are SUPER frequent, and with each patch a new bug is squashed. Give it a chance if you like the idea of a fresh take on Pokemon.
