(I have very little hours on the Steam version, but plenty on the web version)

The potential of this game is great. However I believe that it's currently not worth playing.

Politics is about legislation. Debating the possible causes and effects for certain legislation is at the heart of this discipline. Respublica doesn't offer that at all. In this game, there is no such thing as budget, government spending, health, education, crime and many other statistics which play as key factors contributing to political decisions. Although users may write bills, once they are eventually passed they are simply burried in the thousands of other idealistic bills that have been carelessly voted on as they simply have no effect.

Though people play this game, the intended nature of Respublica is dead. You will often find that legislation is not debated at all. Why? Because there is no effect to it, there are no consequences for overspending or for underfunding (As if you would even know that, considering budget doesn't even exist).

Community interaction is limited, as this game doesn't require you to play at all. It is very much like a mobile game - You long on, take your money, put it into some campaign to prevent from your profile being inactive and you log off.

Developer priorities are terrible. Instead of adhering to the above mentionned flaws of this game, they continuously pump out more and more seemingly identical nations which nobody plays. Everyone has one account for each nation which further kills the debates in this game (how can you debate multiple bills well whilst being in 6 different legislative systems. Answer? You just don't debate).

Genuinely a laughably bad combat system, there is next to no skill involved barring basic hand to eye co-ordination and being able to outspam your opponent, feints are slower than my nan climbing her stairs, you can't drag because you'll be out spammed and chambering is about as useful as a Barbecue at a Bar Mitzvah.

Despite the many nations which are offered in the game, they all lack any degree of accuracy or detail, with many being almost identical to each other. Electing a president serves absoloutely no purpose at this stage and the party popularity mechanic remains rather unexplained and also very simplified.

I acknowledge that this game is still in development, yet I believe that it would be much better for 2 or 3 nations to be in place with accurate political systems rather than several, seemingly identical countries.
