Análise de acesso antecipado
A promising asymmetrical game following the Dead by Daylight formula attempting to correct what said game does not.

I must say, I have really not played for very long. However the impression the game has given me is pretty terrible and one that pushes the new player away. A questionably useful tutorial, obscenely long queue times and a janky obstacle vaulting mechanic which often leaves you wondering "Can I even vault that?" before going down because you can't.

Apparently the killer/monster is temporarily disguised as a survivor/teen at the start of the game (or something along those lines), something the tutorials explain very superficially. Regardless, my teammates in the first game were likely just as confused as me despite having played the tutorial sections.

I understand that this game is in Early Access but I just can't bring myself to open it again despite having played so little. It was quite simply not a good time.

I'm going to start by saying that I was very, very excited for this game. I have been waiting ever since the first announcement, and have pre-ordered the game as soon as the option became available (something which, frankly, I regret).

The game's not your regular football game: it's arcade-ish and fast-paced. The controls are tricky at first, but they don't take too long to get used to. The graphics are quite gorgeous and the animations are faithful to the manga, very smooth, and satisfying to watch.
The singleplayer story is well-made and the voice acting is on point.

All in all, you would say that Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions is a solid, fun game, right? Well... There's a catch.
It would be if Namco hadn't released a game which, in its current state, can only be described as an early access title. Never in my life have I witnessed so many glaring bugs and glitches in a mere two hours of gameplay. Let me list a few of the ones I have encountered:

The game will not work in full-screen on certain resolutions (including mine, which is 1680x1050)
When playing in anything that isn't windowed mode, all text will be misaligned and extremely hard to see
• Again, when not windowed, the game will sometimes and run at double the speed, inevitably crashing after a few minutes
• The game will sometimes crash in certain portions of the story
• Sometimes, goalkeepers will fly away from the goal when trying to save a shot, conceding a free goal
• Players can get stuck in a dribbling/tackling animation and literally glide across the entire pitch as if they were riding an invisible hoverboard
The entire online matchmaking does not work, as you will be matched with bots for the rest of eternity. That's right. You CANNOT play online.
• The netcode makes it absolutely impossible to play online. Nothing makes sense. Players flying, drowning inside the map, balls disappearing, keepers magically becoming weak.

On top of all this, the developer seems to communicate very rarely with the community, leaving players wondering if those issues have even been acknowledged.

In conclusion, this is not a finished game. If you're a fan of the manga like me, then be my guest, but if you're looking for a new experience, don't disturb your wallet (or credit card) just yet. Hopefully, at some point, these terrible issues will be ironed out, the game will finally be what it's meant to be, and this review will turn into a positive one.

EDIT: Some of the issues have been fixed, but the game still needs to be polished more.
After playing the game for more time, I don't think this review will ever change. It's kinda painful for a game I was so hyped for, but, eh.

EDIT 2: I've been trying to appreciate the game more. The online is definitely better. Only needs some tweaks to be a great game, now.
