I think my playtime speaks for itself, I like that game a lot and spent an absurd amount of time on it.

The new player experience need a little more work. If you are new to this game or want to start playing it I highly recommend having a friend that knows the game help you or have guides and youtube videos on the side to help you go through your first dozen of hours. It's unfortunate that is has to be that way but the comunity is very welcoming and aware of those issues and will try their best to help you.

The gameplay depth and customisation is the real star of that game as well as the most scarry thing to a new player. The mod system is really badly explained but it's what allows players to customise everything. From weapons to warframes. Changing stats and effects. Mods can turn a bad weapon into a killing machine and a decent weapon into a tactical nuke. Off course you can do some min maxing but doing some fun build is possible and viable for most of the missions this game has to offer. That combined with the large choice of weapons and warframes everyone will find something they like. The combat gameplay and depth will make the grind much more enjoyable I can assure you.

The free-to-play model is quite good just a little unclear. The cash shop can be a little misguiding even if some improvement have been made. But just know that every weapon and warframe can be earned through gameplay. Some can be really grindy to get but overall everything can be earned in a reasonable amount of tries. New player should focus their spending on equipement slots and nothing else. Also the premium in game money called platinum can be earned through game play. There is a market that is fully players to players made for exchanging that premium currency for tradable items (As with a lot of things with that game. It's an external ressource you will need. A website called warframe market). So through farming you can get some platinum to spend. That way it's possible to get everything in the game even cosmetics through grinding (Only limitation is some cosmetics called Tennogen that are made by waframe fans and that can only be bought for real money and prime accessories sold in the prime acess bundles). And for people who want to invest and buy platinum just know that daily rewards can sometime give you a platinum discount that can go as high as -75%. So if you really want to spend, spend wisely and wait for those. Little disclaimer here, I did throw a lot of money at that game and I wouldn't recommend anyone to do the same. Most of my spendings where unecessary and just a way for me to skip some grind or buy cosmetics I really liked. But as previusly said, you can get almost everything in that game either by grinding for those directly or grinding to sell items on the market for premium currency and buying in the cash shop or trading those with other players.
Just don't let the big numbers from the prime access scare you. New primed gear that comes out is sold in a expensive bundle but is also available through gameplay. Using the trading website you can get the same thing for a fraction of the price. Prime Access is more of way for those who can afford it to support Digital Extreme who are making that game.

To conclude it's an excelent game. Not for everyone. But if you get hooked you are in for a ride. Once you go through the rough first dozen of hours that this game can have you will have hundred of hours of fun and intense gameplay waiting for you. The only complain you will occasionaly see will be confused new player (Can't really blame them) or veteran of the game that have even more playtime than me. Even if their critisim is valid most of the time. Just remember that this game is more about the journey that it's about the end game. I do think a game that you complain about after more than 1k hours of gameplay need some praises. However I don't think those complaints are relevant to new players or people that wont play warframe exclusively. Most people will just stop playing once they get bored and come back once a few waves of new content came out. It's the life cycle of Warframe end game.
