It's not literally perfect, but it is a masterpiece. Stunning visually and conceptually. Incredibly addicting. I can't wait for the developer to complete their roadmap of content and features and for the modding community expand and tweak as they do. I may even be inspired to start modding myself.

Beautiful world and graphics (you'll need very high-end specs to run on Ultra), engaging puzzles that make good use of dimensionality (including verticality and time), serviceable story (though I hated being railroaded into dumb reactions and decisions from a hormonal teenager), and overall well worth the price. We need more magic-concept games.

One of the best games in decades, from one of the best franchises I've ever played

Devastator is a tank class that can't tank because there's no taunt or aggro control in this game.

The core gameloop is speedrunning end-game content. That's it. Speed is all that matters. And yet, Devastator doesn't have an elemental ammo skill, so the only way it can complete the speedruns is to cheese gun-swapping with mods that have nothing to do with the class itself. And since the only thing that matters is speed, and there's always a mathematical fastest way to deal damage, even the other three classes have very defined build paths.

If you want to enjoy this game, only pick one of the three dps classes, and follow the meta. Choice is an illusion, and replayability is limited. It feels like the devs didn't have a very clear idea of what to do with this game beyond the initial class-based shooter concept, sadly.

Steam says I'm in the top 2.1% of achievement earners in this game (oof) so maybe my review is accurate. But the devs are updating it periodically, so maybe it'll be better by the time you read this. Hopefully.
