Free game is good game, but this actually tries to be a really chill city exploration game and it works super well. The jank is endearing, not distracting - give this one a go.

You can't do many things in Stardew Valley, but what you can do is incredible, complex and deeply satisfying. Good game.

This game is a friendlier version of everybody's favorite TCGs, except the cards are birds and the gameplay cuts a lot of the fat that adds bloat and confusion for first-time players of games like these. It may lack the complexity of Magic: The Gathering, YuGiOh or otherwise, but for twenty odd dollars, the ability to play a relaxing card game with enough depth to be engaging and not have to worry about deck modification or seasonal rotations is worth it.

It's fair to say that using the multiplayer function is a bit unorthodox, but in my experience, it does work more often than it doesn't.

Play birdie card game, it's very fun and I really like how they chirp when you click on them. 11/10.

Early Access Review
This game was one I was initially excited for, as a fan of the original AdventureQuest, Dragon Quest, Mech Quest and AdventureQuest World titles since childhood. Ultimately, I cannot recommend you play this title at its current level of development. AdventureQuest 3D's biggest issues out of the box have to be the poor audio balancing by default, the cutscenes that come off as blatantly rushed in an effort to make more of the game accessible from the player's perspective, and the two instances within twenty minutes of playtime that caused system instability.

Beyond that, this is an early access title with a lot of work to be done in order to get it into a more finished state. It continues to baffle me as to why the paid item shop is usually the most finished part of games like this, and AQ3D is no exception. I don't feel like I gave this game as much of a chance as I would have really liked to, but it seems too rough around the edges to give a solid recommendation for at this time. Despite being out since 2016, the team working on this title clearly had put effort and thought into the game, but it's still at a point where making a character can cause a modern PC to crash, or loading a cutscene can take up to three minutes in real time, if it loads at all.

There are genuinely nice things about this title, such as the art style still trying to go for the hand-drawn asset look of the 2D Quest titles from the same developer, or the fact that the combat, while somewhat jittery and stunted, functions well overall, with an easy to understand real time battle system that isn't overly bloated with UI elements. I'm not trying to say this is entirely a flawed piece of media, or a lazy one - from what I understand, this game switched engines sometime during early development and not everything was going to translate well into Unity because of that without extensive re-implementation of existing elements.

Because of my nostalgia, and my belief that the developers of AQ3D are genuinely doing their best to refine their product, i'd be happy to re-evaluate this game once more work had been done to polish the experience, especially for new players. For now, though, I have to say that, unless you're willing to look past a lot of rough patches from the very beginning, give this game some time to be actually completed before you invest time into it.

An excellent game by all standards, the steam sale exploit not withstanding. One of my favorite times with friends!
