The game that I will always come back to, tf2 has kept me entertained for years. The core mechanics are so much fun and playing with friends is still a blast.

Man, this game is amazing. It has gorgeous graphics and pays close attention to detail. The amount of quests and activities are astonishingly large, and the often branching quest arcs are fun and enjoyable. Also, for those who love to try to do the dumb silly stuff like me, you can just kill literally everyone, steal thier loot by going invisible with the rogue, and do riduculous terrain-oriented combat like creating puddles and electrocuting enemies standing on them. That ties into the third great thing about the game in that it is pretty sandboxy for the genre it's in. I've found that the way the game steers you into doing what it wants you to do is by throwing larger and larger obstacles at you until it literally will place invisible mines that kill you when you walk on them. Other than these boundaries, you're free to do whatever you want. Honestly the only downside to the game is the annoying, clunky inventory management. The crafting system is obscure and difficult to figure out, managing your character's inventory to be in sync with the rest of your party's inventory near impossible, and it doesn't help that there's a cap on how much you can carry without getting a slow. Other than that, the game is awesome and thoroughly engaging.
