You know how they say "The journey is more important than the destination". In Disgaea the most important thing is building the car to go on a journey with

Gameplay (9/10)
With one of my main pet peeves in EBF4, the inconsistent backup system (characters not getting party buffs in the backup) fixed, I can't really find anything wrong with the battles anymore... The fights are enjoyable, especially on Epic difficulty, where they give you quite a challenge even if you permanently keep your buffs on. I was never a pokemon fan, so the foe capture system does not strike a special nostalgia nerve in me, but it's still fun to beat up a boss with another boss nonetheless. And the character build variety is huge, while I have found a combo that works for me, there are dozens of other ways to build characters and to specialize them against certain fights.

Audio (10/10)
The angelic Phyrnna delivers once again, and oh man, this series overall has one of the best videogame soundtracks I've ever seen, the tracks are non-intrusive, while also giving you a good vibe. Seriously, it wouldn't be an EBF game without her beautiful music, I often catch myself listening to it even out of game. The game's hitsounds and other ambient sounds feel just appropriate as well.

Story (7/10)
Honestly, stories are sometimes just an excuse to beat sh*t up, and this one does the job just fine. To make an amazing game you don't need to have 10/10 from each category, sometimes every aspect being "good enough" works too. Don't think too hard about it.

Overall verdict (10/10)
You need to play through the entire EBF franchise at least once, or you're missing out. Thank you Matt and Phyrnna for continuously delivering amazing games through most of my internet-dwelling years.
