Quick and easy, but it has its own share of charm. The puzzles were all fairly simplistic. If you're decent at platformers and you don't mind experimenting, you'll probably beat this game in a few hours. But those few hours were well worth the $3 I spent to kill some time in a film-noir-meets-circus adventure in light and shadow.

The story has some weak points, and I'm not sure if it totally resolves. But I had a ton of fun looking for clues and running around the incredibly-detailed setting. Busting bad guys in the act was pretty fun too. YOUR FACE IS A LIAR'S FACE. I CAN TELL BECAUSE YOU'RE SMILING AT ME.

Highlights: ZOOM INTO EVERY CLUE. PLAY WITH CORPSES WITHOUT ANY FEAR OF TAINTING THE EVIDENCE (DNA SHMEE-NA). GRISLY CASES, GOOFY CASES, MOB CASES, HOORAY!

Low...lights: About four interchangeable components to most cases: the car chase*, the shoot-out, the drive-around-and-investigate, and the interrogation. The latter two were fun because CLUES, SCOOBY! The former two get tiring, especially because the physics in this game somehow register many things as unbreakable, even when rammed by a 2-ton Chrysler. I'm looking at you, WOODEN FENCE.

* Not to be used as a driving simulator.
