I cannot recommend this game. The music is nice, the factions give you a wide variety of ways to test out how you might wanna battle. The battles are fun and overall, I think this game is pretty fun. That said, there are a few quirks with the game that leave me dissatisfied with my time and money spent.

I'll admit, I might not be the best at strategy games like this, but it feels like the enemy AI on normal is relentless. You make a single mistake and you can hardly recover. The enemy AI's armies outmatch you if you have a single slip-up in the game. And even beyond that, what made me write this review is having all too many runs ruined because of this ridiculous mechanic.

When the enemy AI goes to attack your city, if they can, they will ALWAYS pick a fight with your weakest hero even if you have 3 or 4 other heroes that can defend the city better. Heroes in this game are like commanders, but more importantly, apply passive buffs to the armies they command and can bring in spells to change how the battle goes. Having a hero you send off to take weak camps or primarily trail off to collect other resources without taking fights can be the sole reason between victory and defeat.

This is a massive issue because usually you'll have your first hero hog a large majority of the experience and become powerful. So your other heroes will be fairly behind even with the bodyguard mechanic. The bodyguard mechanic makes it so that new heroes enlisted to help your faction will have better armies based on your strongest army/hero. So it encourages you to try and handle the mass of the land with extra heroes. However, if those weaker heroes die, they will be sent to your city and forced to defend it, even if your strongest hero is sitting in the city. You win the game by going to the enemy city, fighting their defenses, and capturing it. You have to go there. You can't just camp in your city and hope for the best.

What really made me write this review is also the fact that when you go to the enemy city to fight them, you have to fight their strongest hero even if there are weaker heroes nearby, giving the illusion that you have an easy fight.

Honestly, it feels like the enemy AI is just cheating at that rate. They get to pick better fights than you no matter what. I've lost so many games that I might've been able to win based on this decision alone. It's beyond frustrating.

As I mentioned before, this is the normal difficulty of the game. However, playing on easy is an entirely different story. I literally took the main faction's city and didn't realize this until an hour later in my playthrough. Technically you win by taking the city AND clearing out all of the enemy armies. So you either have a boring time taking over the land or play perfectly.

I adore this game. I didn't spend 23 hours to uninstall it and remorse over the money I spent on it, but it's just unfair. Until they change the scaling of the enemy AI to not be so overbearing on normal and not force unfair fights, I personally cannot recommend this game to my peers or anyone else.

Team fortress 2

I would say after spending at least 1k hours on this game, it has an interesting and well desgined set up towards competeive team fights. As well as creating a goofy and entertaining enviorment that is customizable to a certain degree.

The game demands a heavy amount of teamwork towards objectives on maps. However at the same time, value has assesed the true interest of the game. Killing enemy players. This has been provided through arena modes, team competions, and a decent amount of maps that allow the player the simply enjoy themself within the enviroment given.

The game itself provides an exellent way of assisting new players, such as coaching which has an experienced player go out of their way in order to help new players. In doing so, experienced players are rewarded. However, this is what value has done in order to assist new players.

The community can be extremely harsh when it comes to new players. New players are easily identifed via not having any hats, having a hat that is easily accessaible via achievement, or simply inexperience. These players are looked down upon within the community due to their lack of understand towards certain events where players may be trying to do something outside of the common norm within the game and a new player disturbing it. It is also laid out that new players do not understand how to assist a team greatly, even sometimes ruining a game.

In my opinion, I believe that it would be benefical to most of the community that new players were to take some time to figure out classes, look up online tutorials towards how you should play your class, even take some time to face agianst hard bots.

An easy way to not be quickly looked down upon, targeted for pranks, is to simply buy a universal hat. This will give players the idea that you may not be 'free to play' so to speak. Though other than being targeted because of inexperience, the community can be quite...interesting. It all depends towarsd how you go about putting yourself out into the community.

Though this game provides a large variety of assests that protain towards the entiertainment needs of the vast majority of gamers through third party resources such as custom modders, map designers and much more.

In conclusion, I would find that this game is extremely fun, only if you can put together how you can do it well. Where exactly you may fit in with the community itself. If you find the right place to be, you can find yourself playing this game for a long time.
