Honest Review Before I either Keep it or refund it.

Note 1 Grimoire full release 41.1 MB. SuperDemo 46.6 MB. Hmmmmm....

Note 2 Grimoire full release No Fullscreen..less than optimal display. SuperDemo full screen supported display much better looking. In other words the configuration for scalining in the full game does not work in the Fulll release

ok. Someone just informed me that I was not looking at the compressed size. Turns out the Full release is bigger.

Obviously i'm keeping the game. This is the stuff I like. So far i have died repeatedly and its quite frustrating. But that doesn't mean I'm changing my recommendation just yet. Review will continue.

Yeah I like it, but I'm old school. Wish the final release looked as good as the super demo.

Been playing quite awhile now. Almost at a point where my characters level up. Gonna see how that goes before I start a new game.

To be fair, I was probably the first person to get perma banned on the steam forums. But honestly this game is a great sequel to wizardry. Now I wish Cleve would un-ban me so I could give some positive comments. BTW crow is not very tasty.

Ok, the more I play, the more I like it. Of course it helps that I have leveled up 5 of 8 characters.

Now 17 hours in I am ready for the green hand gand. but I wont give any spoilers.
I have had exactly one crash. No other problems.

Now that I've figured out the mechanics I LOVE this game.

I now know hoe to survive and level my party to 3rd level before taking on the dreaded green hand gang, I wont give any spoilers..

I just played 11 straight hours and am going back in. I remember cleve posting about hearing the midi music in his head...I know what he's talking about now lol. But it's a good thing.

As usual the public begged for the release and are acting like spoiled little brats because there are errors. I just got my game messed up by a patch but I knew the risk I took when playing. I choose to take it like a man. It's a great game..I can wait.

4/29/18 Updated review with a THUMBS DOWN. Although I am keeping my game review positive, I'll explain below

I like the game and all but the developer is totally insane. He is the best advertiser of his own game. "Hundreds of people have loved the game for over 300 hours" -developer. uhmm i saw one person with lots of hours. I don't know, being around this developer and his insta perma bands, ridiculus development lies and stagnation, and grandiose bravado is much like taking a trip down the rabbit hole. Cleve Blakemore is definetly a different kinda human and I must give credit where credit is do. He's extremely cunning in is manipulation of the masses. I just thank God he is a game designer and not a serial killer or the population of the entire world might be a bit smaller.

Tbh I do like the game....it's not near as fabulous as it's main progenerator (aka Cleve). But it is fun and I enjoy it alot for what it is. If you like the Wizardry games you will probably like it but dont expect it to be "like Before ONLY BETTER".

The Negativety is kinda petty on my part, but I just cannot get over Cleve and his lunacy. And also petty because he perma band me for poking a little fun. *Shrug* What can I say... I'm honest.

One thing that does bother me is that the demo had higher graphics than the released product....infact you can turn your gaming GPU off and run it fine with your intergrated MOBO unit.

And lastly way overpriced.

i would say easier and in some ways more fun. 8 characters instead of 6. Interesting races along with the classics. Proving geounds is the game that got me addicted to comp. ga,es in the first place, though I dont t hink I ever finished it.....nor the others...lol. Also played the Bard's tale games a ton....

Imho its a service, friend. No apologies needed for saying what you think. Though I suspect this might be impolitic here. Thanks for the heads up. I do enjoy wizardry type games (I have 6-8 in my inventory from a few years back but found them hard to play). I really enjoyed the NES first one (Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord.) back in the day and was eventually able to complete that (with extensive mapping.) But found KoD and other Wizardrys harder. Is it > or < harder than those?

@ winter wolf- Well if you like wizardry type hardcore games buy it. I don't regret my purchase......but there is a real peak into insanity if you get wrapped up in the Cleve thing not mumbling low insanity, intelligent, creative insanity.....you have been warned.
I apologize for being negative, your right I do not do this. for a long time I did not put this negativety to script. I admitted it was petty on my part, but in the end I felt like people needed to know what they might be getting into.......

Ive read a lot of your reviews Big, this is the first one I've seen you take umbrage at someone much less a dev. Perma ban sounds mean but you might have poked a sore point if you were mocking even lightly something the dev takes seriously. :/

So what I got is: Great game, insane dev, do buy, don't buy. Did I get that right? :D
