I have been on Steam for a good many years and own a fair number of games. I have played them quite a bit, some more than others (I'm looking at you Skyrim and Fallout).

This is the first game I have made a review for.

This game is absolutely amazing. At the risk of sounding like any number of other reviewers, the stunning visuals, the well-spun story, the haunting soundtrack, the fast and fun gameplay are well worth whatever you pay for it. I loved every minute of this playthrough.

The story is well planned out and is never forced. Ori is cleverly narrated and interspersed with beautiful cutscenes to help you unravel the story.

The beauty of the world is captivating. For a 2D platformer, it jumps off the screen with mulitple layers of fully animated, vibrant level art. I kept ignoring the speed run achievement, and will continue to do so, because I loved just running around and exploring, trying to see everything.

When I wasn't trying to see everything, I was trying to listen to the music. Simple, haunting melodies that drift out of your speakers like mist. I will be acquiring the soundtrack as soon as I can.

To top this, it is by no means an easy game to beat. There were many deaths on my part because of my lack of skill, but the game never bogs you down with annoying "You died because you suck" screens. It keeps track, but it throws you back in to get lost in the world of Ori once more.

10/10 Would DEFINITELY buy again.
