i have completed the entire game as of my review, my actual playtime is closer to ~13hrs

This is one of the best two button rhythm games i've played. The difficulty can spike sometimes, but if you generally stick to the island order nothing feels too ridiculous.
The difficulty ceiling (within the main 20 tracks) never hits a "hardcore" level, but i prefer this, personally. I like to be able to beat a game without a thousand retries
the look of the game is also very clean, with a highly visible track and very nice animated backgrounds. I really like this look, its reminiscent of ADOFAI while being very unique. The music has good variety, and i never found it obnoxious sounding unless i was dozens of tries deep :p

overall i would absolutely reccomend rhythm journey, especially if you like games like adofai, rhythm sprout, and taiko no tatsujin (:

The game is fun, even more so with friends, but over all I cant reccomend it like I used to.

I bought this game in 2014. Many of my hours come from closer to that time. If i bought it today, id try to get past that first part with getting the ship running, and stop after barely a few hours because of how boring it became.
The game was much more fun before they added a story. While its not bad, I miss being able to explore mysterious planets and roaming around with no idea what to expect, knowing nothing but a short paragraph on how I got there. (It was also different for each species, which I found more fun.) It was a lot like a better Terraria, though theyre not extremely easy to compare. I kind of wish it had just kept this simple charm instead of becoming something large.
