I'm writing this review while the game is still in beta.
Let me start off with, if you liked Gunz1 and played it religiously you'll probably dislike this game. Everything is much more "restricted" in this game. Your choice of character design for the most part doesn't exsist. Skills like aerial recovery(which at the time of writing doiesn't work btw) or wake-up attacks are now tied to a meter. Instead of "styles" you're given a skill tree which you have to unlock by levels to even get were once basic skills such as aerial recovery. Every class has a skill from the get go that is basicly an instant kill. Lag is rampent due to the p2p structure and net code they use. Oh and instead of their being a lobby with a selection of games you're auto matched into a game LoL style.

On the plus side the game looks nice. Wall running is slightly more flexible than in Gunz1. Did I mention it's prettier than the original? Not to say that the game doesn't have any other good points, something about it is enough to give me a small hope for the future.

I've tried repeatedly to like this game as a GunZ successor since I was a fan since Ijji days but honestly I can only enjoy it knowing thinking its not a true successor. Hopefully MAIET pulls a FF14 and polishes this game into something more rather than pull a FF13.

Edit

With the last patch update the netcode has gotten even worse increasing lag to horrid levels. Match making is pretty unbalanced placing unranked players of low level against ranked players of max level. And its come to my attention that gear heavily influences the flow of the game. If you have no premium tesla gear and go up against someone who does, chances are you're gonna lose severely especially if the level difference is not in your favor.
